After losing back-to-back, the NIU Huskies managed to win their next two games heading to NCAA Football Week 6. They managed to score a blowout victory over the Maine Black Bears by 27 points and followed it up with another win against the Eastern Michigan Eagles. This team heavily relied on their kicker John Richardson to score most of the points. Their rushing attacks also managed to make it to the endzone twice. QB Rocky Lombardi was one of the touchdown scorers while Clint Rakovich was the other. Antario Brown had the most rushing attacks with 16 and he was able to run 101 yards.

Backup Dequan Finn had similar success with 102 yards and one touchdown pass.
