UNLV Rebels vs. USC Trojans – Saturday, September 1st
When: 4:00 pm ET
Where: LA Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, California
TV: Pac-12 Network
Stream: Pac-12 Live
NCAA Football Betting Odds:
The Rebels are coming off a disappointing 5-7 season that saw UNLV post a meager 4-4 record in Mountain West play. Last season’s action marked Tony Sanchez’s third season with the program. So far, things have been rather uneventful for Sanchez. With three losing seasons to his name, Sanchez needs a dire turnaround this season lest risk being fired. Since his squad finished last year’s action with a 1-2 record in their last 3, it’s looking like there’s a tough road ahead of the Rebels. Especially since they’ll be kicking their season off on the road against the Trojans.
Players to Watch: Armani Rogers (1,471 passing yards, 6 TD, 5 INT), Lexington Thomas (1,336 rushing yards, 17 TD, 6.3 AVG), and Brandon Presley (552 receiving yards, 3 TD, 34 REC).
The Trojans turned in a highly successful 11-3 record last season. On top of that, USC finished the year with an 8-1 record in Pac-12 play. This lead to a 1st place ranking in the South Division of the conference. Subsequently, the Trojans would face No. 12 Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship Game. Surprisingly, USC would come out on top 31-28 to claim the Pac-12. Despite that momentum, USC would finish their season on a loss at the Cotton Bowl classic. There they suffered a humbling 7-24 defeat at the hands of No. 5 Ohio State.
Players to Watch: Matt Fink (43 passing yards, 0 TD, 0 INT), Stephen Carr (363 rushing yards, 3 TD, 5.6 AVG), and Tyler Vaughns (809 receiving yards, 5 TD, 57 REC).
