The SEC has had so many national champions in the last few years. They’ve had an untold number of top NFL draft picks. You can bet them all right here. Last year’s national championship game was another version of the SEC championship game. And, frankly, it might be the same this year, too. As ever, you can bet it all right here at BetNow.
SEC 2022 College Football: SEC West
Alabama. That’s always the story in the SEC West, isn’t it? The Crimson Tide. They have set the standard for seemingly the last decade in terms of college football. It’s easy to see why: they’re as good a team as it gets. They have been for a long time. Now, they have maybe the best quarterback of Saban’s tenure, too, in Bryce Young.
Alabama is always a national championship contender. This year, they very well might be the favorite. That’s even in a conference with the defending national champion. The odds are good, and perhaps the safest bet there is, that the Tide are going to win the SEC West.
That said, there are plenty of good teams in the West. For example, Arkansas. They’re great, too. In another conference, in another division, one without Alabama, they very well could be seen as a favorite. They should have a great record this coming season.
Speaking of teams that deserve better in the SEC West, Texas A&M. their recruiting classes have been second to none, literally – as they have the best recruiting class in the nation. Now, it has to translate on the field, but that’s quite a haul for Jimbo Fisher and the team. Mississippi State and Ole Miss again, anywhere else, could be absolute stud teams. They should all be ready to pounce, should something happen to the favorites.
From there, LSU and Auburn, traditional powerhouses, may have taken a step back. In a loaded SEC West, they’re liable to be towards the bottom this year. Of course, in the SEC, anything can happen (other than Alabama not being really good).
Just as Alabama is the power in the West, so too is Georgia the power in the east. After all, they’re coming off of their national championship. They bring back plenty of players, including quarterback Stetson Bennett. But, they did have some key, key losses on defense. (To learn who they were, just look at the first round of the last NFL draft. They practically all went in it). Now, Georgia recruits well and has plenty of great players. But, that’s a lot to lose. That said, Georgia still should win the east this year.
Teams that might surprise some people in the east: Kentucky and the Volunteers. Both teams are better than they’ve been in a while. Moreover, they have plenty of good quarterbacks, too. These are two teams that could give Georgia a run for their money, should the Bulldogs stumble.
Florida and Missouri may still be rebuilding in many ways. The Gators, a traditional power, may not be as strong as they have been in the past. But, they still have plenty to offer. Missouri has a lot of young players and a tough schedule. Vanderbilt may not have the players to do anything other than finish in the basement again.
