Purdue Boilermakers vs Northwestern Wildcats 11/09/2019 – The Northwestern Wildcats try to spoil the postseason aspirations of the Purdue Boilermakers this weekend. Dealing with injuries to key players, the struggling wildcats hope to make the most of their home-field advantage. But their losing spell may not end this Saturday. Internet betting sites slightly pick Purdue to come out victorious against a struggling Northwestern. The Wildcats have not won a game since their Week 2 victory against the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels. Purdue has been thriving on offense but their defensive effort needs improvement to keep their postseason hopes alive.

Tagged as favorites to prevail, Purdue cannot afford to let its guard down. They are facing a forlorn Northwestern team but home-field advantage could factor in. The first thing that the Boilermaker needs to do is address their quarterback woes. They have lost Elijah Sindelar and Jack Plummer to injuries, meaning all eyes will be on Aidan O’Connell. Having been used sparingly, this could tell heavily on Purdue Boilermakers. So far, O’Connell has completed only 15 of 22 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown. Going beyond their quarterback situation, WR Rondale Moore is also out. Regardless, head coach Jeff Brohm has found a way to address all that and survive. He is expected to continue his success against the Wildcats.
Players to watch: J. Plummer QB 144 CMP 241 ATT 1,603 YDS 59.8 CMP% 6.7 AVG 59 LNG 11 TD 8 INT; K. Doerue RB 107 ATT 360 YDS 3.4 AVG 26 LNG; Z. Horvath RB 47 ATT 155 YDS 3.3 AVG 19 LNG; D. Bell WR 51 REC 676 YDS 13.3 AVG 54 LNG; B. Hopkins TE 42 REC 538 YDS 12.8 AVG 38 LNG
The Wildcats have not been spared from the injury bug as well. However, they have failed to come up with answers like the Boilermaker. QB Hunter Johnson is questionable after getting re-injured while Isaiah Bowser is out for this game. The Wildcats have yet to find an answer to their quarterback woes. They have tried Aidan Smith but hardly got any mileage. This radiates its wide receiver line who is unable to get anything going. With a troubled offensive, the Wildcats may have difficulty scoring against a vaunted Purdue defense.
