Pittsburgh vs. Penn State College Football Betting Week 3
Posted by: Anthony Yaylor
Last year Pitt hosted Penn State on ABC Saturday night TV in the hopes of making a national statement. Instead, the statement was that the Panthers were not ready for Prime Time. Pitt was humiliated with the College football odds in a 51-6 debacle that has been on their minds ever since. Now the Panthers head to Happy Valley for the rematch. Revenge is hard to see with the Nittany Lions looking strong as a Big Ten title contender. By contrast, Pitt has been lethargic and lackluster. But the Panthers will be getting a big number.

Now Pitt will enter Beaver Stadium with a record of 1-1 both straight up and with the odds with two under. A week ago, the Panthers got the money in a ho-hum 20-10 home win over Ohio. Of great concern is a plodding Pitt offense ranked 113th in the nation for scoring. Head coach Pat Narduzzi continues to flounder at putting a respectable offense on the field. First-week results were an ugly 30-14 home lost to solid Virginia.
Players to Watch: QB Kenny Pickett (185 YDS, 51% COMP, 4.5 AVG, 1 TD, 2 INT, 87.4 RTG), RB AJ Davis (8 ATT, 25 YDS, 3.1 YPC, 1 TD, 2 REC, 65 YDS, 32.5 0 TD), WR Maurice Ffrench (6 REC, 54 YDS, 9.0 AVG, 0 TD), WR Taysir Mack (6 REC, 33 YDS, 5.5 YPC, 0 TD)
Penn State Nittany Lions
Fashion Penn State’s 2-0 start both straight up and with the odds with two overs. Last week the Nittany Lions trailed Buffalo 10-7 at the half. But in the second half PSU exploded to delight home fans and gamblers in a 45-13 win. In their opener, the Nits killed Idaho 79-7 for an easy home payout. As a result, head coach James Franklin’s team ranks second in the nation for scoring.
Players to Watch: QB Sean Clifford (73% COMP, 279 YDS, 12.7 AVG, 4 TD, 0 INT, 18 RSH, 108 YDS, 6.0 AVG, 0 TD), RB Devyn Ford (6 RSH, 107 YDS, 17.8 YPC, 1 TD, 3 REC, 6 YDS, 2.0 AVG, 0 TD), RB Journey Brown (11 RSH, 66 YDS, 6.0 YPC, 2 TD, 2 REC, 31 YDS, 15.5 YPC), RB Noah Cain (10 RSH, 46 YDS, 4.6 YPC, 3 TD), WR KJ Hamler (7 REC, 177 YDS, 25.3 YPC, 2 TD), TE Pat Freiermuth (9 REC, 124 YDS, 13.8 YPC, 2 TD), WR Jahan Dotson (5 REC, 122 YDS, 24.4 YPC, 2 TD), PK Jake Pinegar (16-16 XP, 3-3 FG)

Extending last year’s devastating bet on sports visual is the look of both teams in 2019. Pitt lacks the Penn State firepower.
