College Football Betting Odds:
Oregon State Beavers
The Oregon State Beavers turned in a massively disappointing 1-11 record last season. Subsequently, Gary Andersen resigned after 6 games. It had become clear that his leadership wasn’t doing much for the program. After his release, Oregon State brought in Cory Hall to take over as head coach. Corey Hall has been coaching football since 2006 but this represented his biggest opportunity yet. Although Hall finished the season without a win, his team was at the very least competitive in most matchups. This lead Oregon State to bring in Jonathan Smith as the new head coach for Oregon State. This will be Smith’s first time serving as head coach but he has ample experience to draw from. We’ll have to see how he fares.
Players to Watch: Darrell Garretson (1,465 passing yards, 6 TD, 8 INT), Artavis Pierce (323 rushing yards, 1 TD, 4.8 AVG), and Noah Togiai (461 receiving yards, 2 TD, 34 REC).
Ohio State Buckeyes
The Buckeyes turned in another successful season under Urban Meyer. Last year they finished with a stellar 12-2 record that included an 8-1 performance in Big Ten play. Naturally, Ohio State finished No. 1 in the East Division of the conference. And in the Big Ten championship, Ohio State would usurp No. 7 Wisconsin 27-21 for the conference bragging rights. Overall the season would end on a good note for Ohio State as they came up big in the Cotton Bowl Classic. There they faced No. 12 USC in a dominant 24-7 winning effort. Moving forward, Ohio State has some holes to fill in offense. Particularly at the quarterback and wide receiver positions.
Players to Watch: Dwayne Haskins (565 passing yards, 4 TD, 1 INT), JK Dobbins (1,403 rushing yards, 7 TD, 7.2 AVG), and Parris Campbell (584 receiving yards, 3 TD, 40 REC).
