Oregon Ducks vs Iowa State Cyclones 01/02/2021 – Oregon and Iowa State clash in the 2021 Fiesta Bowl on Saturday, January 2, at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The Cyclones, ranked 10th in the US, hope to bounce back from a hard-fought setback against Oklahoma while number 25 Ducks seek to continue their winning ways and make it two in a row against consensus top 15 teams. Football betting odds pick Iowa State to emerge over Oregon and snare the Fiesta Bowl, despite coming off a loss in their previous outing.

Back-to-back Pac-12 Conference champions Oregon Ducks rode on luck and the sudden pull out of Washington to earn the title. They outplayed the USC Trojans in the conference championship. It was the sixth Pac-12 championship in 12 years for Oregon and fourth championship win. Defense was the name of the game for the Ducks against the Trojans as defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux recorded five tackles and a sack and Jamal Hill intercepted the ball twice. Quarterback Tyler Shough finished with 91 passing yards and two touchdowns while Anthony Brown threw two TDs as well.
In six games, Shough had a 62.7% completion rate with 13 TDs. He also rushed for 263 yards and scored two TDs. Travis Dye and CJ Verdell led the balanced running game for Oregon with a combined 576 yards and four TDs. Dye also led the team in receiving TDs with four scores and came in fourth in reception with 221 yards. Devon Williams, Jaylon Redd and Johnny Johnson III topped the reception department for Oregon with 264, 252 and 226 yards, respectively.

The Cyclones played good football all season long only to lose the all-important Big 12 championship game against Oklahoma. Breece Hall’s two touchdown effort went to naught as signal caller Brock Purdy got pressured and threw three interceptions. Overall, Purdy has a great season as he registered 2,594 yards in the 2020-21 season and passed for 18 TDs. Hall played brilliantly for the Cyclones as he rushed for 1,436 yards and 19 TDs. Wide receiver Xavier Hutchison and tight end Charlie Kolar combined for 1,264 passing yards and 10 TDs. In defense, Will McDonald IV and JaQuan Bailey had a great season as they combined for 16.5 sacks. Linebacker Mike Rose led the team in interceptions with four takeaways.
