College Football Betting Odds:
The Sooners turned in a 12-1 record this season to claim the No. 1 spot in the Big 12. Naturally this led to an invite to the Big 12 Championship Game where they faced No. 14 Texas. Interestingly enough Texas dealt the Sooners their first loss of the season earlier in the year 48-45. Nevertheless Oklahoma was able to rebound in the conference championship by defeating the Longhorns 39-27. Now the Sooners look to deal an upset to the best team in the nation. So what do the numbers have to say about this contest? Well the Sooners offense certainly gives them a shot against Bama but their defense isn’t helping them out one bit. Right now Oklahoma is averaging 49.5 per game, which beats out the 47.9 that the Crimson Tide average. However since the Sooners are giving up 32.4 per game while the Tide only give up 14.8, it’s easy to see why the above listed odds are so lopsided.
Players to Watch: Kyler Murray (4,053 passing yards, 40 TD, 7 INT), Kennedy Brooks (1,021 passing yards, 12 TD, 9.0 AVG), and Marquise Brown (1,318 receiving yards, 10 TD, 75 REC).
Alabama Crimson Tide
The Tide rushed their way to a 13-0 finish this season that saw them finish 1st overall in the West Division of the SEC. In the SEC Championship Game, the Tide were matched up against No. 4 Georgia and won 35-28. Ultimately the Crimson Tide was heavily favored in that game. Since they had no problem proving the odds makers right, they should have no problem this Saturday doing the exact same thing. Both teams come in with stellar play at the quarterback position. But what will truly define this outcome will be the play on defense. And if that’s the case, there’s no question that Bama has this matchup in the bag.
Players to Watch: Tua Tagovailoa (3,353 passing yards, 37 TD, 4 INT), Damien Harris (771 rushing yards, 7 TD, 6.1 AVG), and Jerry Jeudy (1,103 receiving yards, 12 TD, 59 REC).
