Wisconsin Badgers

The Badgers are coming off an 11-3 (7-2 in Big Ten play) season that saw the program finish 1st in the West Division. In the Big Ten championship, the Badgers would lose 31-38 to No. 8 Penn State. Wisconsin would the season on a high note however, defeating No. 12 Western Michigan 24-16 in the Cotton Bowl Classic. Wisconsin finished the 2016 season with a No. 9 nationwide ranking.

Wisconsin kicked off their 2017 season on the right foot by picking up a lopsided 59-10 win over the Utah State Aggies. Despite only outgaining the Cougars 478-304 in total yardage, the Badgers made sure that the scoreboard would not be close in any definition of the word. The Badgers forced 2 turnovers and suffered 2 of their own.

In Week 2, the Badgers the Florida Atlantic Owls and delivered another clear-sided 31-14 win over their lesser opponent. Yardage wise, Wisconsin came out on top 564 to 248. The Badgers suffered 2 turnovers on the day however, proving that Wisconsin needs to work on their ability to retain possession.

BYU Cougars

The BYU Cougars are coming off a 9-4 season that ranked them as the best independent program in the nation. The Cougars are entering the second season of the Kalani Sitake era and will be vying for a national ranking.

BYU got an opportunity to land on the nation’s radar when they kicked off their 2017 season by facing the unranked Portland State Vikings. The Cougars came out on top 20-6 and outgained the Vikings 365-220 in total yardage. BYU also managed to avoid turning the ball over while forcing a turnover of their own.

The following week the Cougars would face No. 13 LSU and as most online college football betting fans predicted, BYU suffered a 27-0 shutout loss to the Tigers. The Cougars were outgained 479-97, which helped the program understand just how well they measure up against some of the better programs in the nation. At the very least BYU was once again able to avoid turning the ball over while still picking off LSU once.

BYU has actually played 3 games already this season, their third coming against the Utah Utes. Even though the Cougars were looking to bounce back from the loss they suffered the week before, the Utes came out on top 19-13. Utah also outgained BYU 430-233 in total yards. The biggest sports wagering bummer of the day was that the Cougars broke their turnover-less streak, throwing three picks in the game.
