Having said that, it’s clear there won’t be any shortage of legal online betting players wagering on this lucrative contest. Let’s take a quick gander at the NCAA sportsbook odds to get a picture of what the bookmakers are anticipating will go down this upcoming Saturday.
Ohio State Buckeyes vs. TCU Horned Frogs – Saturday, September 15th
When: 8:00 pm ET
Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
Stream: ABC Sports
College Football Betting Odds:
Ohio State Buckeyes
Unsurprisingly, the Buckeyes are 2-0 so far this season. Even less surprising is that Ohio State is currently ranked No. 4 in the nation, given how dominant they were in both those matches. But after toppling their first two opponents 77-31 and 52-3, the Buckeyes will now face a nationally ranked opponent for the first time this season. And even though the college football betting odds are pegging them as a heavy favorite, Ohio State will need to beat that 12 ½ point spread in order to remain No. 4. While they may be averaging 650 total yards on offense per game, Ohio State will now face a defense that only gives up 213.5 per outing. With that in mind, it’s clear that Weber and Haskins will be put to the test this weekend. So far both have excelled and it’ll be intriguing to see how they fare against this challenge.
Players to Watch: Dwayne Haskins (546 passing yards, 9 TD, 1 INT), Mike Weber (217 rushing yards, 3 TD, 7.8 AVG), and Terry McLaurin (172 receiving yards, 3 TD, 5 REC).
TCU Horned Frogs
The Horned Frogs are currently ranked 15th in the nation and are hopeful they can propel themselves up the national rankings with an upset over Ohio State. Shawn Robinson has been brilliant for TCU, chewing up defenses both through the air and on the ground. In fact, through just 2 games this season, Robinson is responsible for 7 of TCU’s touchdowns on the season. Four of those came through the air while the other three were earned on the ground. Unfortunately, Ohio State’s defense is no joke as they only give up 263 each time they take the field. Right now TCU is earning 446 but we’ll have a better idea of how strong this offensive unit is once Saturday’s action concludes.
Players to Watch: Shawn Robinson (336 passing yards, 4 TD, 1 INT), Darius Anderson (105 rushing yards, 0 TD, 6.2 AVG), and KaVontae Turpin (111 receiving yards, 1 TD, 8 REC).
