College Football Betting Odds:
North Carolina Tar Heels
The Tar Heels are coming off a rather disappointing 3-9 season that saw the program post a 1-7 record in ACC play. Naturally, this lead to a weak ranking in the Coastal Division. In fact, UNC ended up ranked last in the division. Although the Tar Heels aren’t known for their strength on the gridiron, last season was still a huge disappointment. After all, they didn’t make the conference championship, didn’t make any bowl games, and lost their annual rivalry against NC State. Moving forward, Larry Fedora will be vying for better results in his 7th season at the helm.
Players to Watch: Chazz Surratt (1,342 passing yards, 8 TD, 3 INT), Jordon Brown (613 rushing yards, 4 TD, 4.4 AVG), and Anthony Ratliff-Williams (630 receiving yards, 6 TD, 35 REC).
California Golden Bears
Although the Golden Bears had a slightly more successful season than North Carolina, their 5-7 record was still a massive letdown. Furthermore, their 2-7 record in Pac-12 failed to make any sort of splash in the conference. Instead, the Golden Bears found themselves ranked penultimate in the North Division. Subsequently, they found themselves missing out on the Pac-12 championship game. They did however, get an invite to the Rose Bowl. Unfortunately, it didn’t amount to much as UCLA beat Cal 30-27.
Players to Watch: Ross Bowers (3,039 passing yards, 18 TD, 12 INT), Patrick Laird (1,127 rushing yards, 8 TD, 5.9 AVG), and Vic Wharton III (871 receiving yards, 5 TD, 67 REC).
