Nebraska Cornhuskers Vs. Colorado Buffaloes NCAAF Betting odds and game picks

At the onset of the season, few teams were getting more love and adulation than the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Although the Big Red finished with a 2018 college football betting record of 4-8 the team showed improvement down the stretch. Nebraska is a traditional power blue blood marquee program that gets a lot of attention. While the Huskers won last week, they were not impressive. Gamblers and fans are taking a second look. Meanwhile, Colorado showed strong in their opener. Mel Tucker couldn’t have asked for a better debut as head coach of the Buffaloes.

Nebraska Cornhuskers

Last week Nebraska posted a 35-21 win over South Alabama. They never threatened to cover as 35-point overlays. The game showed just how over the top the preseason hype was on the Huskers. Additionally, sophomore quarterback Adrian Martinez did not live up to the Heisman hype of the summer. Martinez ran for only six yards on 13 carries. Head coach Scott Frost thought Martinez was indecisive. Of great concern was the poor blocking by the Big Redline. Martinez was also mediocre in the passing department. On the positive, the defense showed marked improvement. But the offense Frosted Scott.

Players to Watch: QB Adrian Martinez (178 YDS, 59% COMP, 8.1 AVG, 0 TD, 1 INT, 118 RTG, 13 RUSH, 6 YDS, 0.5 AVG, O TD), RB Dedrick Mills (15 ATT, 44 YDS, 2.9 YPC, 2 TD), RB Maurice Washington (6 ATT, 39 YDS, 6.5 AVG, 0 TD), TE Jack Stoll (3 REC, 66 YDS, 22.0 AVG, 0 TD), WR Wan’Dale Robinson (3 REC, 33 YDS, 11.0 AVG, 0 TD), S Eric Lee Jr (2 INT, 1 TD)

Colorado Buffaloes

Mel Tucker arrived with little fanfare and low expectations at Colorado. Now fans are taking notice after a 52-31 win over Colorado State. Quarterback Steven Montez staked his claim with an impressive performance. To show Montez threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns and added 39 yards rushing. Running back Alex Fontenot added 125 yards rushing with three touchdowns. Contrarily the Buffs defense remains a worry. Colorado was actually outgained 505-475 by the Rams. Tucker can add a lot of goodwill with a win over Nebraska. Consider the Buffs and Huskers bitter rivalry when they were conference foes.

Players to Watch: QB Steven Montez (232 YDS, 65% COMP, 11.6 AVG, 2 TD, 0 INT, 195.4 RTG, 5 RSH, 39 YDS, 7.8 YPC, 0 TD), RB Alex Fontenot (19 ATT, 125 YDS, 6.6 YPC, 3 TD), Jaren Mangham (11 ATT, 40 YDS, 3.6 YPC, 1 TD), WR Tony Brown (3 REC, 71 YDS, 23.7 YPC, 0 TD), WR Laviska Shenault Jr (3 REC, 48 YDS, 16.0 AVG, 1 TD)

Nebraska Cornhuskers Vs. Colorado Buffaloes Betting Picks

In this situation, Nebraska’s offense should have a mobile betting advantage against the weak Colorado defense. Conversely, the Buffs should find the Black Shirt defense much tougher than Colorado State.
