Miami Hurricanes vs. LSU Tigers – Sunday, September 2nd
When: 10:00 pm ET
Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
Stream: ABC Sports
NCAA Football Betting Odds:
The Hurricanes are coming off a highly successful 10-3 season that saw them post a 7-1 record in ACC play. That conference record lead to a 1st place ranking in the Coastal Division of the SEC. Naturally, the Hurricanes got an invite to the conference championship. There they would face No. 1 Clemson in an embarrassing 3-38 manslaughter. Additionally, the Hurricanes would close out their highly successful run with another loss. Albeit, this one in the Orange Bowl against No. 6 Wisconsin 24-34. Accounting for that loss, Miami finished out last year’s season with a 3-game losing stint. Obviously this was a massive letdown considering the success the club has aspired to early on. Mark Richt will make his return at head coach in 2018, marking his 3rd season with Miami.
Players to Watch: Malik Rosier (3,120 passing yards, 26 TD, 14 INT), Travis Homer (966 rushing yards, 8 TD, 5.9 AVG), and Ahmmon Richards (439 receiving yards, 3 TD, 24 REC).
The Tigers were able to deliver a 9-4 performance in 2017, earning one more win than they had the year before. Last year’s season was Ed Orgeron’s 1st full season as head coach for the Tigers but it was his 3rd overall season with the program. Ultimately he led them to a 3rd place ranking in the West Division of the SEC, which isn’t all that bad. On top of that, his program earned an invite to the Citrus Bowl where they would get paired against No. 14 Notre Dame. That pairing ended in a17-21 triumph for the Fighting Irish.
Players to Watch: Myles Brennan (182 passing yards, 1 TD, 2 INT), Nick Brossette (128 rushing yards, 2 TD, 5.1 AVG), and Foster Moreau (278 receiving yards, 3 TD, 24 REC).
