LSU vs. Vanderbilt College Football Betting Analysis and Odds
Posted by: Mike Davis
Commencing with every season LSU has been disregarded for its offensive prowess. In the past, the Tigers promised to mend their ways only to stick with the stone age tactics. However, this year has been a true transformation. Quarterback Joe Burrow is thriving with the new high-tech attack. And gamblers are taking notice. Counter to that are the punchless Vanderbilt Commodores. Few teams bring less appeal with the college football odds. Under head coach Derrick Mason, the Dores have always struggled offensively. Now they have the added problems of a defense that can’t stop opponents.

Now LSU enters this game with a record of 3-0 straight up, 2-1 vs. the line, and 3-0 over the total. Week three was a 65-14 win over Northwestern State as 51.5-point home overlays. Specifically, head coach Ed Orgeron is finally starting to gain respect. His hiring was derided as a joke. However, his management of the program’s improvement is undeniable.
Players to Watch: QB Joe Burrow (1122 YDS, 83% COMP, 12.5 AVG, 11 TD, 2 INT, 223.9 RTG), RB Clyde Edwards Helaire (37 RSH, 182 YDS, 4.9 YPC, 4 TD, 8 REC, 46 YDS, 5.8 YPC, 0 TD), WR Justin Jefferson (19 REC, 374 YDS, 19.7 YPC, 4 TD), WR Terrace Marshall Jr (16 REC, 229 YDS, 14.3 YPC, 6 TD), Ja’Marr Chase (10 REC, 168 YDS, 16.8 YPC, 1 TD) PK Cade York (19-20 XP, 6-6 FG)
Extending the misery of Vanderbilt fans and backers has been the Commodores terrible start. Vandy is 0-2 both straight up and against the spread with 1-1 on totals. Following a 42-24 loss at Purdue was a much-needed bye last Saturday. It could not be an uglier look for Vanderbilt. Consider the Commodores rank 94th for total offense and 125th for scoring. In the same way, Vandy’s defense ranks 126th overall and 118th for points allowed. Of great concern is that drop in defensive production. The defense has been the lone bright spot in the Mason era.
Players to Watch: QB Riley Neal (463 YDS, 63.3% COMP, 7.7 AVG, 2 TD, 1 INT, 5 SACK, 135.8 RTG), RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn (32 RSH, 130 YDS, 4.1 YPC, 1 TD, 7 REC, 46 YDS, 6.6 YPC, 0 TD), Chris Pierce (4 REC, 149 YDS, 37.3 YPC, 1 TD), WR Kalija Lipscomb (11 REC, 106 YDS, 9.6 YPC, 0 TD), TE Jared Pinkney (5 REC, 72 YDS, 14.4 YPC, 0 TD), WR Cam Johnson (5 REC, 37 YDS, 9.0 YPC, 1 TD), WR Justice Shelton Mosley (5 REC, 37 YDS, 7.4 YPC, 0 TD)

LSU Tigers vs. Vanderbilt Commodores Betting Picks
To begin with, this will be more of a home game for LSU than Vanderbilt. LSU travels well and Vanderbilt is losing its small fan base with the terrible start. More emphatically LSU is in the far better bet on sports form.
