Louisville Cardinals

After flying high in 2016, the Louisville Cardinals settled on an 8-5 record last season. And while that might not be that meager, the Cardinals’ 4-4 record in ACC play certainly was. Naturally, that conference record led to a disappointing 4th place ranking in the Atlantic Division of the conference. It comes as no surprise to see that the Cardinals missed out on the conference championship. They did however, receive an invite to the TaxSlayer Bowl (the IRS’ least favorite Bowl Game). There Louisville was pegged against No. 24 Mississippi State. Although they gave it their all, the Cardinals came out on the losing end 27-31. Bobby Petrino will make his return and lead the Cardinal’s in his 9th overall season with the program.

Players to Watch: Jawon Pass (238 passing yards, 2 TD, 0 INT), Dae Williams (235 rushing yards, 3 TD, 6.2 AVG), and Jaylen Smith (980 receiving yards, 7 TD, 60 REC).

Alabama Crimson Tide

It’s no surprise that Nick Saban was able to lead Alabama to another successful season in 2017. All in all they turned in a 13-1 record that was made up of a 7-1 SEC record. Despite being one of the most dominant teams in the nation, Auburn beat out the Crimson Tide for the 1st place ranking in the West Division of the SEC. Ultimately Alabama would get the last laugh as they made it all the way to the college football playoffs, where they quickly worked their way up to another national championship. With Nick Saban once again at the helm in 2018, we can expect another dominant season out of Alabama this season.

Players to Watch: Jalen Hurts (2,081 passing yards, 17 TD, 1 INT), Damien Harris (1,000 rushing yards, 11 TD, 7.4 AVG), and Jerry Jeudy (264 receiving yards, 2 TD, 14 REC).
