Louisiana Warhawks vs Texas State Bobcats 10/10/2019 – The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks face the Texas State Bobcats in what pundits feel is an evenly matched encounter. Both teams tote a 2-3 record for the season, both scoring wins against ragtag teams. Top betting sites find this matchup tough to read since both teams are not that good against the spread. The Warhawks are 1-4 ATS in four games while the Bobcats are 1-4-1 ATS in its last six. Neither team has been predictable in the total. Five of the two teams’ combined scoring have gone over the total and four going under.
Hence, sportsbooks feel that it may be easier to look at the trends instead. Louisiana-Monroe is 1-3 in its last four games and has allowed an average of 46.5 points per game. Texas State is on a two-game win streak and also coming off a bye. Despite seemingly close, the Bobcats seem to have the edge.

In focus for the Warhawks is quarterback Caleb Evans. In their loss to Memphis, Evans threw for 286 yards with a pair of touchdowns. He leads Louisiana-Monroe in passing with 1.172 yards, 10 touchdowns, and three interceptions. Also worth monitoring is Josh Johnson. He is the team’s leading rusher with 598 yards and four touchdowns. Other players to watch include Josh Pederson who leads all receivers with 293 yards with five TDS. There is also Cortez Sisco Jr. who is the team’s leading tackler with 36. A big loss could be Chase Day. He is questionable against the Bobcats and his absence could be told on Louisiana-Monroe. The Warhawks own one of the most potent offenses of the country. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said on the defensive end. They are allowing teams to run an average of 6 yards per rush and this could benefit the Bobcats.

Texas State Bobcats
Texas State is riding high on a two-game winning streak and this spells bad news for the Warhawks. Despite sporting the same 2-3 win-loss record, the momentum could work to the Bobcats’ advantage. Gresch Jensen starred for Texas State in their 24-3 romp over Nichols Colonels. He went 22 of 29 with 253 passing yards and completed 2 touchdowns. Caleb Twyford had a good showing as well. He did have 21 yards but was unable to cross the endzone by way of the rush. Javen Banks was the receiving yardage leader, averaging 36.5 yards per catch in that game. Against Louisiana-Monroe, Texas State’s offense will be in close scrutiny. They own one of the worst offenses in college football. Without a vaunted rushing game, the Bobcats are expected to turn to their pass defense. They currently sit at 3rd in the conference for passing yards allowed per game.
