NCAA Sports Betting Odds:
Kent State Golden Flashes
The Golden Flashes are coming off a 2-10 season that saw the program finish dead last in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. Kent State found themselves in that humbling position thanks to the pitiful 1-7 record they posted in MAC play. Naturally, Kent State did not get any invitations to any Bowl Games. Seeing as how Kent State closed out the season on a 5-game losing streak, it’s safe to say that they would not have put forth that entertaining of a performance. Over the last four seasons, Kent State has been unable to scrap together more than 3 wins in a single season. Subsequently, the program is giving new hire Sean Lewis a shot. Lewis is the youngest coach in the nation and will be looking to prove his NCAA sports betting prowess from the get go.
Players to Watch: George Bollas (1,133 passing yards, 4 TD, 12 INT), Justin Rankin (490 rushing yards, 3 TD, 4.0 AVG), and Trey Harrell (324 receiving yards, 1 TD, 17 REC).
Illinois Fighting Illini
The Fighting Illini fought their way to a 2-10 record last season to finish dead last in the West Division of the Big Ten. After posting an 0-9 record in conference play, Illinois could not have expected much else. Accounting for their record, the Illini didn’t have a chance to fight in a bowl game or in a conference championship. Despite the fact that he’s only won 5 games in the last two seasons, Illinois is sticking with Lovie Smith as their head coach. Smith is a former NFL head coach but is having a hard time finding success at the collegiate level. Granted, his last two seasons in the NFL weren’t that great either.
Players to Watch: Chayce Crouch (443 passing yards, 1 TD, 4 INT), Mike Epstein (346 rushing yards, 3 TD, 6.1 AVG), and Ricky Smalling (510 receiving yards, 2 TD, 31 REC).
