Football Betting Lines NCAA for No. 8 Ohio State vs. No. 3 Wisconsin
Posted by: Mike Davis
Ohio State had high hopes of qualifying for yet another college football playoff berth at the end of the regular season. But considering that the Buckeyes are currently ranked No. 8 in the nation, it does not seem like they’ll be able to accomplish that goal. Granted, if Ohio State manages to upset No. 3 Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship game this weekend, the Buckeyes might just be able to leap the national rankings and secure a consecutive playoff berth. And surprisingly enough, the football betting lines NCAA are actually favoring the Buckeyes over the higher ranked Wisconsin. Take a look.

Football Betting Lines NCAA:
Ohio State Buckeyes -6 (-110) 51 (-110) -240
Wisconsin Badgers +6 (-110) 51 (-110) +200
Ohio State Buckeyes
The Buckeyes enter this weekend’s championship matchup flashing a 10-2 record that includes an 8-1 record in conference play that ranks Ohio State 1st in the Big Ten – East standings. Saturday’s matchup will mark the first time these two have faced each other, but it is surprising to see the football parlay odds side with the Buckeyes so heavily. Ohio State enters this Week 14 pairing riding a 3 game win streak after picking up consecutive triumphs over Michigan State, Illinois, and this past weekend’s 31-20 victory over Michigan. The Buckeyes 2 losses of the season have come against Iowa 24-55 and against Oklahoma 16-31. Considering how elite the Badgers’ defense is, it wouldn’t be that shocking to see the Ohio State’s offense get stuffed. In fact, since both teams sport tremendous defensive units, the under line on this matchup doesn’t seem half bad.
In fact, almost all lines on this matchup are some of the better football betting lines NCAA of the weekend. To help clarify the aforementioned point about betting on the spread; Wisconsin’s defense is only allowing 12 points per contest while the Buckeyes are allotting 19.8 themselves. Granted, both teams have pretty explosive offenses since Ohio State puts up 43.8 each weekend while the Badgers are scoring around 34 points. However, defenses win championships and both teams are likely to turn to their defense to win the title this weekend.
No. 3 Wisconsin has badgered their way to an unblemished 12-0 record that ranks them as the best team in the Big Ten – West standings. The Badgers’ quality wins of the season have come in the last month as they’ve beaten No. 20 Iowa and No. 24 Michigan. Furthermore, Wisconsin is coming of a 31-0 pummeling of Minnesota that once again proved this program is not messing around. Considering that the Badgers are pegged as the betting underdog this weekend, sportsbook players should definitely – and I mean definitely, take Wisconsin straight up.
The Badgers offense isn’t averaging as many points as the Buckeyes, but there’s no question that Wisconsin has the better defensive unit.
