Florida State vs. Clemson: ACC Kickoff Analysis & Florida Atlantic’s Tom Herman’s College Coaching Return

Florida State vs. Clemson ACC Kickoff Analysis & Florida Atlantic's Tom Herman's College Coaching Return

Florida State vs. Clemson – The upcoming college football season will take place soon, but several changes to teams and coaches have already taken place. The college football betting odds and lines will soon be available for bettors to place their best bets. Tom Herman, former head coach of the Texas Longhorns, has returned to college coaching at Florida Atlantic. Even as media days took place close to AT&T Stadium and Texas’ campus in Austin, he remained focused and excited for his tenure there. Once fired from Texas in 2021, Herman is eager to begin building his legacy at Florida Atlantic. While he appreciates his time spent coaching Texas, he looks forward to new challenges and opportunities in Florida Atlantic’s program. At 48 years old, Coach Herman hopes that all his experience at Texas will prove beneficial as he applies his knowledge and expertise there.

Herman’s return to the American Athletic Conference (AAC) marks his success from his days with Houston – including top-10 victories over Florida State and Oklahoma. This experience will serve him well as he leads Florida Atlantic in their pursuit of glory.

Florida Atlantic Announces Entry Into American Athletic Conference (AAC)

Florida Atlantic‘s entry into the American Athletic Conference marks an exciting step, with head coach Tom Herman providing both optimism and anticipation among his players and fans. Florida Atlantic can now use their debut within this conference to showcase their talents against top programs in college basketball.

Building on Past Success Despite facing difficulties at Texas, Herman amassed an impressive 32-18 coaching record there with four bowl victories. At Florida Atlantic, he plans to build upon this success and take their program even higher.

Florida State vs Clemson Is the ACC’s Most Anticipated Game

Florida State and Clemson faceoff has long been one of the most anticipated matches in ACC football. Coach Mike Norvell of Florida State has narrowed Clemson’s talent gap against its league opponents, making this clash even more compelling. Both squads should enter this matchup undefeated and top-10-ranked, further amplifying its anticipation.

Quarterbacks: Travis and Klubnik

Florida State’s Jordan Travis and Clemson’s Cade Klubnik will lead their respective teams. Travis is an early Heisman favorite against Clemson while Klubnik hopes to cement his spot as the starting QB with an impressive showing in the ACC Championship Game.

Running Backs and Receivers in an Opposition

Both teams boast talented running backs and receivers, making this battle equally matched. Clemson’s Will Shipley leads its running game while Florida State’s Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman offer size and depth at wide receiver.

Offensive Line: Florida State Has the Edge

Florida State has transformed its offensive line under Coach Alex Atkins into one of its greatest strengths, giving the Seminoles an advantage in the trenches. Clemson will pose no equal challenge when facing off against Florida State on November 8.

Clemson Defensive Line and Linebackers Show Off Their Defensive Prowess

Clemson’s defensive line remains formidable despite losing some key starters, thanks to their ability to accumulate elite prospects. Florida State, on the other hand, has proven adept at finding defensive linemen through transfer portals, adding talented players who bolster their defense.

Florida State and Clemson boast strong linebacker units that add depth and versatility to their defenses. Florida State head coach Randy Shannon boasts three veteran linebackers in his system, while Clemson returns talented linebackers Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Barrett Carter who add strength and versatility.

Secondary and Special Teams: Evenly Matched

Both teams possess formidable secondary units, with Clemson boasting veteran players to maintain its formidable backline presence. Both Florida State and Clemson boast well-coached secondaries capable of making key plays.

Special teams could prove to be the deciding factor in this matchup, with Clemson holding an edge in kicking. Florida State’s Ryan Fitzgerald will look to improve upon his field goal performance while Robert Gunn aims to establish himself as Clemson’s new kicker.

Florida State’s Veteran Team Will Succeed

Florida State vs. Clemson: While Clemson may be the clear home favorite, Florida State could still pull an upset by sending veteran players against them at home. Their matchup will surely be thrilling; and could have far-reaching ramifications for both programs’ seasons. While December will hold greater meaning for this matchup, Florida State appears poised to emerge victorious at first. Both squads are eager to prove who will reign supreme within ACC this season – making this game one that football fans won’t want to miss. This 2023 college football season is sure to be exciting with some of the top teams battling their way to the Super Bowl.
