We’re approaching the best part of the NCAA football betting bowl season. Last weekend’s action helped bring us closer to the most riveting matchups and this Wednesday’s First Responder Bowl game should do the same. The matchup will pit Boston College against No. 25 Boise State. Considering they’re coming into this contest unranked, will the NCAA sportsbook betting lines peg Boston College as a vast underdog? Boston College Eagles

The Eagles fly into this evening’s contest sporting a 7-5 record that managed to rank them 4th overall in the Atlantic Division of the ACC Conference. BC found themselves in that position thanks to the 4-4 record they posted in conference play. Naturally the program did not receive an invite to the conference championship. Interestingly enough Boston College has finished with a 7-6 record the last two seasons consecutively. If they fail to come out on top in this year’s Responder Bowl, it will now be three seasons finishing with the exact same record. Right now the NCAA football betting odds are pegging BC as a massive underdog and rightfully so. After all, Boise State is scoring 35.4 per game while giving up 22.1 per matchup. For comparison, Boston College is scoring 32.0 and giving up 25.7.

Players to Watch: Anthony Brown (2,121 passing yards, 20 TD, 9 INT), AJ Dillon (1,108 rushing yards, 10 TD, 4.9 AVG), and Kobay White (526 receiving yards, 3 TD, 33 REC).

Boise State Broncos

The Broncos turned in a beautiful 10-3 record this season to finish as the best team in the Mountain division of the Mountain West conference. Naturally Boise State got the nod for the MW Championship game. There they faced the then ranked 25th Fresno State in a 19-16 losing battle. Now the Broncos look to right that wrong with a dominant First Responder Bowl outing. With a statistical edge over Boston College, Boise State should be able to get the job done. It will be interesting to see how Brett Rypien fares against this tough BC defense. The Eagles managed to snag 18 interceptions this season so they’ll have their eye out for Rypien – who only threw 7 picks this whole season.

Players to Watch: Brett Rypien (3,705 passing yards, 30 TD, 7 INT), Alexander Mattison (1,415 rushing yards, 17 TD. 4.7 AVG), and Sean Modster (978 receiving yards, 8 TD, 68 REC).
