College Football Rankings for Sportsbook Betting Fans

The college football betting season is right around the corner so naturally fans will want to know how the landscape is shaping up. Unsurprisingly, Bama and the reigning champion Tigers are claiming the top spots but bettors want to know which programs have the best shot at usurping these two. Naturally the contenders include the likes of Georgia, Oklahoma, Ohio State and a couple others. So let’s pile right into these college football rankings to help mobile betting fans prepare for the upcoming season.
College Football Rankings
No. 1 Clemson
The Tigers are a clear cut No. 1 heading in to the season due to the fact that their reigning champs and have a tremendous amount of talent returning. The cornerstone of that talent is Trevor Lawrence, who is a college football betting preseason favorite to snag Heisman honors this season. Lawrence was the focal point of the No. 3 offense last season so it’s safe to assume the Tigers will pick up right where they left off, averaging 527 offensive yards per game. Additionally, Lawrence shouldn’t have too hard of a time staying up right as the offensive line will be stacked with the likes of Travis Etienne, Tee Higgins and Justyn Ross. One more thing to consider about the strength of this team is that they had 13 of their 22 starters earn preseason all-ACC team honors.
No. 2 Alabama
The Tide are coming off an embarrassing loss that they sound found excuses for. Nevertheless, Nick Saban is never to be underestimated. And this time around, Saban is leading a hungry team who has but one thing on their mind. Tua Tagovailoa is a talented quarterback that should lead this team to a high level of success. Additionally, he’ll have 4 returning receivers to make his impression on the gridiron this upcoming season. That of course includes none other than Jerry Jeudy, a force to be reckoned with.
No. 3 Georgia
The Bulldogs have been a talented team the last couple of seasons but now they’re trying to break into the upper echelons of the college football betting elite. While the college football odds have mixed feelings regarding the Bulldogs, there’s no denying this team has the potential to break through this season. They will of course, have to usurp which Bama, which is always easier said than done. Jake Fromm and running back D’Andre Swift will be leading the offense so that shouldn’t be a problem. However, the defense will be without cornerback Deandre Baker and linebacker D’Andre Walker, which could be big shoes to fill. We’ll have to keep an eye on the Bulldogs as the season progresses to see what they turn in.
No. 4 Oklahoma
The Sooners upcoming success depends wholly on quarterback Jalen Hurts and defensive coordinator Alex Grinch. Hurts is undoubtedly under a microscope considering he has two big shoes to fill left by two Heisman winners and subsequent No. 1 NFL draft picks. Although head coach Lincoln Riley publically stated the quarterback position is still up for grabs, it’s clear Hurts is likely to be the starter. Nevertheless, Grinch also has his hands full on the defensive side of the ball as he aims to improve what is the worst defense in the nation.
No. 5 Ohio State
The Buckeyes have lost a quarterback and receiver but the fact that they still cracked this list shows the kind of talent they sport. To help out at quarterback, they’ve brought in transfers Justin Fields and Gunnar Hoaks. Fields is previously a No. 1 ranked recruit and should be a decent fit for the system at the very least. The defense should be the strongest aspect of this team.
