College Football Betting Odds for Tigers’ Kick Off Match
Posted by: Anthony Yaylor
The college football betting season commences this weekend. Soon enough, the nation can take their mind off the political storm sweeping the country and focus on the issues that truly matter. Like who will win the national title this season. Right now it’s anybody’s guess but once the season begins, NCAA betting sportsbooks will get some inkling into who will win it all in 2017.
NCAA football betting sites have already pulled back the curtains on Week 1’s action. There are plenty of matchups to dig your teeth into and there’s no question a good amount of fans will be wagering on the reigning national champions in their first game of the season against the Kent State Golden Flashes. Let’s see what kind of lines sportsbooks are putting together for this matchup.

NCAA Betting Sportsbook Lines:

Kent State Golden Flashes
The Kent State Golden Flashes underachieved once again in 2016, posting a 3-9 (2-6 in MAC play) for the second year in a row. That disappointing record led to a 5th place finish in the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. But hey, at least the Golden Flashes weren’t last in the division.
Paul Haynes returns as head coach in 2017, marking his 5th season with the program. In Haynes’ tenure with the school, the Golden Flashes have failed to post a winning record but have amassed 9 losses in a season 3 times. College football betting fans should expect similar results from the Kent State Golden Flashes this upcoming season.
Kent State comes into this contest as massive NCAA betting sportsbook underdogs. No doubt picking either team on the money line is ill-advised, but betting on the totals line doesn’t sound half bad.
The Tigers finished the 2016 season with a 14-1 record, an ACC title, and a National Title. Needless to say Clemson couldn’t have done much better and the Tigers have some pretty big shoes to fill this upcoming season, especially since Deshaun Watson is now playing professional football.
Watson was the man most responsible for the Tigers’ upsetting the Crimson Tide this past January. It’s unlikely that the Tigers will have an answer for such a massive hole in their offense, but Clemson will do all it can to have Junior Kelly Bryant ready to go come September.
Dabo Swinney makes his return at head coach, marking his 9th season at the position and 10th overall with the program. Coming off his first national title, the entire college football betting community is dying to know how Swinney will be able to handle the success. Will he be able to build on it and achieve even greater heights? Or will complacency start to sink in and spell doom for the Tigers?
