College Football Betting Lines for Historic Rivalry
Posted by: Mike Davis
This online college football betting weekend, NCAA players will have the opportunity to wager on one of America’s greatest college football rivalries as the Florida Gators host the Georgia Bulldogs this Saturday. That’s right, the world’s largest outdoor cocktail party will go down this weekend and although there’s a stark comparison between these two programs national rankings, there’s no doubt this contest will live up to the hype this rivalry has spent years building. Let’s take a look at what kind of turnout NCAA sportsbooks are predicting for this Week 9 matchup.
Georgia Bulldogs vs. Florida Gators – Saturday, October 28th
When: 3:30 pm ET
Stream: CBS Sports
Online College Football Betting Lines:
Georgia Bulldogs -13 ½ (-110) 43 ½ (-110) -525
Florida Gators +13 ½ (-110) 43 ½ (-110) +415
The Bulldogs make their way into this rivalry sporting a 7-0 unblemished record that ranks them as one of the best teams in the nation, the 3rd best team in the nation according to the AP. Additionally, Georgia has posted a stellar 4-0 record in conference play that ranks the program 1st in the SEC East standings. The Bulldogs last stepped onto the gridiron to face off against the lowly Missouri Tigers and promptly handed them a 53-28 pummeling. This Saturday’s opponent is a little better than Missouri and although the Gators don’t exactly have a winning record, Georgia can expect them to come ready to play.
Looking over both team’s numbers, it’s clear that Georgia shouldn’t have too hard of a time covering the spread this weekend. The Bulldogs are putting up 37.6 points per game, which is a little higher than the 23.3 points the Gators are giving up each weekend. However, Florida’s offense is only gaining 23.7 points – a mark they might miss against a defense that is only allowing 12.6 points per game.
The Gators crawl into this Week 9 matchup sporting a 3-3 record that ranks them 2nd in the SEC East standings, thanks to their 3-2 conference record. Florida has only faced one out of conference opponent this season, due to their 2nd matchup of the season being cancelled due to inclement weather. For a team that came into the 2017 online college football betting season sporting a No. 17 national ranking, the Gators have not been able to find the success they were hoping for this season. The Gators enter this Saturday’s game riding a two-game losing streak, including their most recent 19-17 loss to Texas A&M this past weekend. Naturally, players who bet on college football should avoid picking the Gators straight up, despite how lucrative the odds may be. Florida simply has not shown us anything this year to lead us to think that they can upset Georgia this Saturday. Sure, there will be a little added motivation against their rivals, but a little extra vigor isn’t going to make up for such a vast difference in both talent and discipline.
