College Football Betting Odds:
The Mountaineers charge into this Saturday’s Camping World Bowl matchup sporting an 8-3 record that saw them finish 3rd overall in the Big 12. The program earned that spot thanks to their 6-3 record in conference play. On top of missing out on the conference championship, West Virginia also closed out the season on a 2 game losing streak. Now they’re hoping for a strong rebound against Syracuse, who isn’t a pushover by any means. The college football betting odds are predicting a contentious matchup, as are each side’s numbers. Right now West Virginia is averaging 42.3 per game while Syracuse is scoring 40.8. Defensively things are just as even with the Mountaineers giving up 26.5 and the Orange allotting 27.8. If those numbers pan out this Friday, college football fans will be in for one heck of a show.
Players to Watch: Will Grier (3,864 passing yards, 37 TD, 8 INT), Kennedy McKoy (729 rushing yards, 7 TD, 5.7 AVG), and Gary Jennings Jr. (917 receiving yards, 13 TD, 54 REC).
Cuse worked their way to a 9-3 record this season that also included a 6-2 record in ACC play. This ultimately led to a 2nd place ranking in the Atlantic Division of the conference, missing out on that coveted No. 1 spot to Clemson. Nevertheless Syracuse still earned an invite to the 2018 Camping World Bowl, letting them into some postseason action. The odds are favoring Syracuse slightly over West Virginia but they also make it clear this this matchup is very much a tossup.
Players to Watch: Eric Dungey (2,565 passing yards, 17 TD, 7 INT), Moe Neal (827 rushing yards, 5 TD, 5.6 AVG), and Jamal Custis (826 receiving yards, 6 TD, 46 REC).
