Bet on College Football Favorites Alabama This Saturday!
The Alabama Crimson Tide has already convinced college football betting sportsbooks that they’ll be winning the title come January. However, many players who bet on college football don’t share that sentiment. Part of it has to do with the way the Crimson Tide lost in last year’s championship match, and the other part has to do with the program’s glaring lack of a quarterback.
Alabama will have an opportunity to prove the naysayers wrong this Saturday when they host the Fresno State Bulldogs. A win over the Bulldogs isn’t as eventful as a win over Florida State, but the Crimson Tide needs some serious improvement at the quarterback position. Let’s take a look at what sports wagering sites have to say about this weekend’s contest.

Fresno State Bulldogs
It comes as no surprise to see the Fresno State Bulldogs being pegged as massive college football betting underdogs against the No. 2 program in the nation. After all, Fresno State is an unranked program and they’re coming off of a 1-11 season in which they finished dead last in the West Division.
Fresno State got an opportunity to prove to their students and fan base that this year would be different this past Sunday when they hosted the Incarnate Word Cardinals. Incarnate Word might be the most unrecognizable program in the country, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that the Bulldogs handed them a 66-0 pummeling. Take a look at who Alabama will be facing this weekend.
Alabama Crimson Tide
The Crimson Tide might be the most focused team in the country. After failing to come up big when it mattered most, sportsbook betting fans can bet on the fact that Nick Saban will have his team ready to compete each and every week.
College football betting sites got their first look at this year’s Alabama team this past Saturday, when they faced No. 3 Florida State in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The Seminoles came to play and represented a worthy opponent. Florida State hadn’t gone 0-1 to kick off a season in nearly a quarter-century, but Alabama wasn’t about to let that streak stay alive.
It took Alabama a little bit to warm up, only scoring 3 points in the 1st quarter. However, their defense kept them in the lead by shutting out Florida State in the 1st quarter. The second quarter was back and forth with both teams exchanging touchdowns to give us a 10-7 Alabama lead heading into the half.
The Crimson Tide’s defense would come up big again for the program, shutting out the Seminoles for the rest of the game. Alabama would go on to score 14 more points in the game, all thanks to their defense.
The Crimson Tide defense forced 3 turnovers on the day and held Florida State to 250 yards. Considering Alabama’s offense only gained 269 themselves, it’s safe to say that if Alabama had any other defense this past weekend the game would’ve turned out much different.
Jalen Hurts, the Tide’s quarterback, finished the day with a cringe-inducing 29.5 passer rating – further fueling the argument that Alabama doesn’t have a quarterback. Saturday’s contest against Fresno State will give Hurt some much needed time to improve.
