NCAA Football Betting Odds:
Appalachian State Mountaineers
The Mountaineers turned in a 9-4 record last season that included a 7-1 record in Sun Belt conference. That conference record lead to a 2nd place ranking in the Sun Belt football standings. After posting such a brilliant record, Appalachian State received an invite to the Dollar General Bowl. There they would face Toledo in a 34-0 brutal triumph. All in all the end of the season was filled with nothing but high times for Mountaineers. In fact, they finished out the season riding a 4-game winning streak. Included in that was a 27-6 win over Georgia Southern in their annual rivalry. Scott Satterfield will lead the Mountaineers once again, marking his 6th season with the program.
Players to Watch: Taylor Lamb (2,737 passing yards, 27 TD, 6 INT), Jalin Moore (1,037 rushing yards, 12 TD, 5.7 AVG), and Ike Lewis (733 receiving yards, 8 TD, 51 REC).
Penn State Nittany Lions
The Nittany Lions delivered a masterful 11-2 record last season. On top of that, Penn State posted a 7-2 record in Big Ten play. This led to a 3rd place ranking in the East Division of the Big Ten standings. Unfortunately for Penn State, that conference record was not good enough to garner an invitation to the conference championship. It was however, good enough to get them into the Fiesta Bowl. There Penn State would close out the season on a high note by defeating No. 12 Washington 35-28.
Players to Watch: Trace McSorley (3,570 passing yards, 28 TD, 10 INT), Miles Sanders (191 rushing yards, 2 TD, 6.2 AVG), and Juwan Johnson (701 receiving yards, 1 TD, 54 REC).
