College Basketball Betting Odds:

Syracuse Orange +2 (-110)   142 ½ (-110)   +112

Arizona State Sun Devils -2 (-110)   142 ½ (-110)   -132

Syracuse Orange

The longest-tenured coach in collegiate ball, Jim Boeheim, looks to lead his program to another NCAA Tournament berth. Having taken his teams to the Final Four 5 times, Boeheim’s players know they’ve got a seasoned leader in front of them. And how could you expect anything else from Boeheim, who’s in his 42nd season with the Orange. Notwithstanding his sizable experience, the college basketball betting odds are siding against Syracuse. Overall, the Orange turned in a 20-13 record to finish 10th in the ACC. Clearly an 8-10 conference record makes you look like a poor program in every conference except the ACC.

To help pull off the upset this Wednesday, Boeheim will be leaning on Tyus Battle. Battle leads the Orange in points per game with an average of 19.8 drained each outing. Second behind Battle is Frank Howard, who is contributing 15.0 points per game. Next is Oshae Brissett who scores 14.7 points per game. All things considered, Syracuse relies on these three pretty heavily since their next contributing player only puts up 6.0 points. Syracuse couldn’t average more than 70 points per game and will need a miracle to outscore Arizona State. It’s either that or a dominant defensive day.

Arizona State Sun Devils

In his 3rd season with the Sun Devils, Bobby Hurley vies to make his first ever tournament appearance. Of course, that first-ever title only applies to Hurley as a coach. The reason being, that Hurley won 2 NCAA titles as a player. No doubt Hurley knows what it takes to win glory as a player. However, it will be interesting to see if he is able to share that knowledge with his players. By the looks of it, Wednesday’s sportsbook betting lines certainly seem to think so. Nevertheless, the 2-point spread prediction divines an extremely close contest.

To help prove the odds-makers right, the Sun Devils will be turning to Tra Holder. Holder currently leads Arizona State with his 18.4 points per game scored average. Behind him is Shannon Evans II, who is draining a total of 16.6 points per matchup. Thirdly for Arizona State is none other than Kodi Justice. Justice is just putting up 12.6 points per game. Altogether the Sun Devils put up 83.5 points per game, giving them the nation’s 14th best scoring unit.

Syracuse vs. Arizona State Basketball

The sportsbook betting trends don’t necessarily favor one team over another. But overall, it’s pretty clear that the Sun Devils are the better team.
