Notre Dame Clear College Basketball Betting Favorite

Over the last couple of years, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have enjoyed a good deal of college basketball betting success. With a top-25 national ranking finish over the last two years, including a top-10 ranking for the 2014-15 season, in addition to a respectable push in the NCAA Tournament, the Irish are starting to become synonymous with success. So far this season, Notre Dame has done an adequate job of building on that repute.

As things stand now, the Irish have fought their way to a 19-7 record that ranks Notre Dame 6th in the ACC. The ACC is one of the toughest, if not the most competitive, conference in the nation for college basketball and sportsbook fans will indubitably agree. Apart from the recent 4-game losing streak Notre Dame suffered, the Irish were well on their way to becoming a betting favorite. But with two back-to-back wins, including a vital triumph over No. 14 Florida State, Notre Dame isn’t going anywhere.

On Tuesday, February 14th, the Fighting Irish will make the trip to Massachusetts to face off against the Boston Eagles at the Silvio O. Conte Forum in order to solidify their bid to this year’s March Madness betting lines. So far this season, as well as over the last couple of years, the Eagles haven’t enjoyed anywhere near the amount the success that the Irish have on the basketball court. With this in mind, players can expect the bookies to heavily come out in favor of Notre Dame.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL BETTING ODDS –February 14th

Notre Dame Fighting Irish     -10½ (-110)      149½ (-110)    -630

Boston College Eagles          +10½ (-110)      149½ (-110)    +465

As anticipated, the sportsbooks have painted the Fighting Irish as the clear betting favorites. Notre Dame will be coming into this game riding the aforementioned two-game win streak but has conceded 4 losses in their last 6 games. The Fighting Irish have enjoyed an 8-5 record this season in ACC play and Tuesday’s game should be another easy conference win.

Boston College have struggled their way to a 9-17 record that ranks them 15th in the ACC, dead last in the conference. Furthermore, the Eagles have posted a meager 2-11 record in ACC play this season and it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to pick up a victory against No. 25 Notre Dame. Especially when considering that Boston College is currently riding a 9-game college basketball betting losing streak.

The sportsbook underdogs will turn to leading point-scorer Jerome Robinson to lead them in their upset effort.  Robinson is scoring 19.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. Ky Bowman is second for Boston in points with his average of 13.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.9 assists.

The college basketball betting favorites will be led by Bonzie Colson who is currently draining 16.7 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. Second for the Fighting Irish in points is VJ Beachem and his ability to deliver 14.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game.
