The San Antonio Spurs’ bid of extending their legendary playoff streak got a new lease of life after a decent showing in January. However, back-to-back setbacks against Los Angeles powerhouses, the Lakers and the Clippers, definitely halted their momentum. DeMar DeRozan didn’t get an All-Star invitation this year, but he’s putting up numbers worthy of All-Star nod the past three games, scoring 24, 26, and 28.

Players to Watch: DeMar DeRozan (23.2 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 5.2 APG)

LaMarcus Aldridge (18.8 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 2.4 APG)

Patty Mills (11.7 PPG, 1.6 RPG, 2.0 APG)

Damian Lillard has been magma hot these past two weeks, dropping 40, 50 points during the stretch and earning him Western Conference Player of the Week recognition for these two weeks.

San Antonio Spurs vs Portland Trail Blazers Betting Picks

Damian Lillard’s terrific play has put the Blazers in position to stay in the playoff picture. The biggest question for the Blazers going forward is how long can Lillard carry the load for the Blazers? The Spurs will continue to lean on DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge, yet it’s pretty obvious that they need more firepower in their offense.

Moneyline: Bet the Blazers at -150. Lillard had an off-night against the Nuggets as he finished with 21 points 8-for-23 shooting. That’s not a good sign for the Spurs, who should be expecting a more aggressive Lillard Thursday night.

ATS: Back the Blazers to cover the 3-point NBA spread. Portland covered the spread four games in a row before the streak ended in a 127-99 loss to Denver.

TOTALs: Pick the UNDER at 232.5 points. The Blazers dropped a 99-point dud in their last game and I feel their offense is experiencing some kind of fatigue after a scintillating run. The Spurs aren’t scoring well either as they posted 105 and 102 points against the Los Angeles teams.

Score Prediction: 115 – 107 Blazers
