That .671 win percentage paved the way to a 2nd place finish in the Southwest Division, as well as a third place finish in the Western Conference. This year’s playoff berth marks the fifth straight year that the Rockets have competed in the postseason.
The Rockets were tasked with facing the Oklahoma City Thunder in the opening round of this year’s playoffs. Russell Westbrook and company gave it all they had, but the Rockets were able to advance in 5 games. However, the Spurs have been giving the Rockets a slightly tougher time in the second round.
To kick things off in the Conference Semifinals, the Rockets were able to pick up a solid 126-99 win over the Spurs. However, that victory wasn’t enough for Houston to set the tone in this series and San Antonio was able to bounce back by picking up two wins. The Rockets won Game 4 to throw themselves back into the mix, but there’s no telling who will walk away with Game 5.

The Spurs delivered another successful season that saw the franchise go 61-21. With that record, the Spurs were able to finish 1st in the Southwest Division and 2nd in the Western Conference.
In the opening round of the playoffs, the Spurs faced the Grizzlies and advanced past Memphis 4-2.
