Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics, who have emerged as the frontrunners in the Eastern Conference, come into this evening’s contest sporting an 8-2 record that ranks them 1st in the Atlantic Division as well as the Eastern Conference. After losing star Gordon Hayward to a brutal leg injury in the very first game of the season, many NBA betting players felt like Boston would have a tough time rebounding from such a devastating loss. However, behind the Celtics’ offseason addition, Kyrie Irving, who is the team’s leading point-scorer, Boston has unequivocally come out as one of, if not the, best team in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics enter this evening’s matchup riding a 8-game winning streak.

To help pick up the W this evening the Celtics will be turning to none other than Kyrie Irving. Irving’s 21.0 points per game ranks as the best amongst the team and gives us a definite answer to our preseason questions regarding how Irving would perform without LeBron. Considering that the Cavaliers are currently sitting on a 4-6 record, it’s safe to say that LeBron needed Irving more than Irving needed LeBron.

Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks, like the Boston Celtics, made a handful of changes this past offseason. The most notable of which is the addition of Dewayne Demon from the San Antonio Spurs and the legging go of Dwight Howard who is now playing for the Charlotte Hornets. The changes haven’t exactly panned out for the Hawks, who are coming off a playoff season. Atlanta is currently sitting on a disappointing 2-8 record that ranks them 5th in the Southeast Division and ultimately dead last in the Eastern Conference. With this disappointing record in mind, the online betting NBA odds have had no problems pegging the Hawks as the heavy underdogs this evening. The Hawks are coming off a 117-115 upset over the Cleveland Cavaliers that snapped a 8-game losing streak.

To help deliver another upset, the Hawks will be turning to none other than leading point-scorer Dennis Schroder. Schroder is averaging 22.5 points per game, 6.6 assists per game and 2.8 rebounds per matchup. Schroder also leads Atlanta in assists so expect him to connect with himself this evening.
