Knicks vs 76ers Betting odds Preview

After NBA betting online fans got snubbed by Derrick Rose’s absence in the New York Kicks’ 110-96 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, both the Knicks’ organization and those looking to bet on basketball games will be hoping to have the indomitable Rose back in the lineup. Luckily enough for New York, this time they’ll be facing a team that ranks lower than them in the NBA.

Wednesday night, the Knicks will be making the trip to the Brotherly City to face off against the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers will be coming into this contest with a 10-25 record which ranks them 13th in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks are currently 17-21 as well as 11th in the Eastern. This season the Knicks are 6-13 on the road while the 76ers are 6-14 at home. With that in mind, it’s unclear which team will have an advantage at the Wells Fargo Center. Nevertheless, let’s see what the NBA betting online lines have to say about this pairing.

New York Knicks -2 (-110) 210½ (-110) -135
Philadelphia 76ers +2 (-110) 210½ (-110) +115

It seems the odds are saying that the Knicks are the team most worth your bet on basketball games Wednesday night, just as long as Rose is back in the lineup. New York is certainly hoping that the bookies are right on this one, considering that they’ve only won two games out of their last 10. The media will certainly have their eye on Rose, given his unexcused absence, and it will be interesting to see how the former MVP performs under the unnecessary pressure.

Philadelphia has won 3 out of their last four contests, including their most recent 105-95 win over the Brooklyn Nets. The 76ers will be without Jerryd Bayless who will miss the remainder of the season due to a left wrist injury. Other than Bayless, all other players are primed and ready for this divisional matchup. The 76ers haven’t been favorites for a bet on basketball lines much this season, but given New York’s recent spill of bad luck, it wouldn’t be that surprising to see Philadelphia sneak away with it.

The Knicks are projected to start Rose at point guard, Courtney Lee at shooting guard, Carmelo Anthony at shooting forward, Kristaps Porzingis at power forward and Joakim Noah at center. New York will be looking for a better performance from Porzingis who delivered a poor performance against the Pelicans by only garnering 9 points. Additionally, the Knicks will be hoping for Rose and Melo to combine for more than 40 points in order to secure a win.

Philadelphia is expected to start TJ McConnell at power guard, Nik Stauskas at shooting guard, Robert Covington at shooting forward, Ersan Ilyasova at power forward and Joel Embiid at center. In order to upset the NBA betting online odds the 76ers will be looking for a strong defensive performance from Covington. Covington will be in charge of covering Anthony. Covington’s offense may suffer, but Philadelphia will need him to neutralize Melo.
