The Grizzlies crawl into this evening’s matchup with a 9-21 record that ranks Memphis 4th in the Southwest Division. Additionally, with that disappointing record, the Grizzlies also find themselves ranked 14th in the Western Conference overall. Surprisingly, Memphis has made the playoffs for the last 7 years in a row. However, considering the type of season they’re having so far in 2017, it’s safe to say that Memphis’ postseason appearance streak will come to an end this season. Against the red hot Warriors this evening, the NBA odds sportsbooks will not be too kind to the Grizzlies.
A look at the Grizzlies roster will reveal that they simply don’t have the numbers to compete with the Warriors. At the present time, Marc Gasol leads the Grizzlies in points. And while Gasol is putting up 19.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game, Memphis will need a whole lot more if they are to overcome Golden State’s roster. The Warriors may still be without Stephen Curry. But the way the Warriors have been competing without the face of their franchise makes it unquestionably clear that they can pummel the Grizzlies this evening.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors enter this Western Conference pairing flashing a brilliant 24-6 record that ranks Golden State 1st in the Pacific Division. Furthermore, with their merits, the Warriors are currently ranked 2nd in the Western Conference behind the 25-4 Houston Rockets. The San Antonio Spurs are on the heels of the Rockets with their 21-10 record, so Golden State has some pressure on them as well. Golden State enters this evening’s pairing riding a 9-game win streak.
The lines have yet to come out for this Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors matchup. However, current estimates have the money line at around -630 for the Warriors. Obviously there’s not much value to be had on this line. On the other hand, it appears that the spread will be set at 10 ½ and will feature a vig of -105 to -115. The Grizzlies have a 10-19-1 record against the spread this season while the Warriors are 14-16. Neither of those inspires a whole lot of basketball betting online confidence on the spread line. In fact, bettors might actually want to stick to the totals line on this one.
