Thursday brings yet another opportunity for players to wager on the online NBA betting playoffs. Wednesday’s action was fairly straight forward with the Celtics beating the Bulls by 9-points (108-97) and the Washington Wizards pulling one over the Hawks by 4 (103-99). Thursday might prove to be a tad bit more unpredictable, considering that two teams are staring elimination right in the face.

San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio turned in another highly successful season under Gregg Popovich, which comes as no surprise considering that the Spurs have been in the postseason every year ever since Popovich’s first full year at the helm. San Antonio finished the regular season with a 61-21 record that led to a 1st place finish in the Southwest Division and a 2nd place finish in the Western Conference. The Spurs aren’t exactly nervous heading into Game 6 since they’re not currently facing elimination. However, San Antonio is certainly eager to get to Round 2, considering that the Spurs were eliminated in the Conference Semifinals last season.
The Spurs came away with Game 5 116-103 and were lead to that dominant victory by a solid performance on behalf of Kawhi Leonard, the Spurs’ leading point-scorer. Leonard finished the night with 28 points, 6 assists, and 1 rebound. Leonard got some help from the bench. Specifically, Patty Mills scored 20 points in 22 minutes, while also snagging 2 rebounds and 1 assist.
Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies joined the NBA in 1995, which means that the Spurs have been consecutive playoff contenders for as long as Memphis has been in the NBA, except for a single year. That’s certainly disheartening, and Memphis’ 43-39 regular season record isn’t doing much to raise the franchise’s hopes against such an elite franchise. Nevertheless, the Grizzlies have pulled 2 over the Spurs, and basketball betting sites aren’t exactly ruling them out this Thursday.
Mike Conley lead Memphis in points in game 5 behind a 26 point, 6 assists, 2 rebound performance. No one else was able to break 20 for the Grizzlies, but Marc Gasol did throw up 17 points, as well as 7 assists and 5 rebounds.
