Golden State Warriors
The Warriors enter this evening’s matchup sporting a 30-8 record that ranks Golden State 1st in the Pacific Division. Additionally, Golden State finds themselves leading the Western Conference with that stellar record. However, this evenings’ opponent is the biggest threat the Warriors are facing in the West. Considering that Houston is 2-games behind Golden State, an upset over the Warriors this evening could put Steph Curry & Co. at risk in the West. The Rockets were actually leading the conference for a while. All in all, watching these two battle it out for the lead in the West will be one of the more intriguing sportsbook storylines of the season.
Steph Curry is back in the Warriors starting lineup and is back to his dominant ways. Curry is coming off a 32-point performance in the Warriors 125-122 win over the Dallas Mavericks. Given the injuries the Rockets are contending with, and given Curry’s recent dominance, the Warriors are the clear betting favorites this evening. At the present time, the lines have yet to come out for this matchup, but it’s looking like the Warriors will be pegged around -160. With that in mind, basketball betting online players can find plenty of value in backing Golden State this evening.
The Houston Rockets have found plenty of success this season, given their 27-9 record. As aforementioned, the Rockets were leading the West for quite a while. That was until the team suffered a 5-game losing streak mid-December. Nevertheless, the club has been able to bounce back since that pitiful performance by winning back-to-back games over the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic. That said, a win over the Warriors would put them right back on track to lead the Western Conference.
While it’s true that the Rockets have recently snapped their losing streak, they might have a hard time keeping a win streak alive. The reason being, that the Rockets will have to compete without James Harden for the next two weeks, including this evening’s matchup. Considering that the Beard leads the team in points with his 32.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 9.1 assists, there’s no question that Houston will have a hard time getting that productivity elsewhere. Ultimately the task falls upon the shoulders of Eric Gordon and Chris Paul in this Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets matchup.
