Golden State Warriors
The Warriors come into this Wednesday night pairing sporting a 15-6 record that ranks them as the best franchise in the Pacific Division and 2nd overall in the Western Conference. The Houston Rockets are currently leading the West and rightfully so since they delivered a 122-121 win over Golden State earlier this season. The Warriors have somewhat underperformed this season and the fact that they still have a stellar record just shows the kind of expectations the basketball handicap betting community has for this club. The Warriors have gone 2-2 in their last 4 games so Golden State will be looking to pick up some speed this evening. The Warriors are coming off a disappointing 106-110 loss to the Sacramento Kings.
In order to get the job done this evening, the Warriors will be turning to none other than leading point-scorer Steph Curry. Curry leads the team with his average of 26.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game. Second in points for the Warriors is Kevin Durant: one of the top-3 NBA players in the world. Durant is currently putting up 24.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. Klay Thompson is 3rd for Golden State as he is putting up 20.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per outing.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers swim into this West Coast matchup flashing an 8-12 record that ranks Los Angeles 3rd in the Pacific Division and 11th in the Western Conference overall. The Lakers are several games behind the 10-11 Utah Jazz who rank 8th in the Conference. This places Los Angeles in the playoff mix but judging from what we’ve seen out of Lonzo Ball and this year’s Lakers’ squad; not too many players are expecting LA to make the playoff cut in 2017. Furthermore, bettors placing NBA parlay picks on this evening’s action should avoid backing the Lakers over the Warriors at all costs.
Despite all the preseason hype created by his father, it is rookie Kyle Kuzma who leads Los Angeles in points not Lonzo Ball. Kuzma is currently putting up 16.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per night. For comparison, Ball is only putting up 8.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.1 assists. It’s still too early to tell but there’s a growing consensus that Ball is a bust. However, NBA bettors should refrain from making judgment calls on Lonzo until the kid has had at least 3 seasons in the league.
