Yankees Hope to Break Online MLB Betting Slump
Posted by: Anthony Yaylor
The second half of the online MLB betting season continues this Thursday, although with only 9 Major League Baseball contests to choose from, bettors might not be able to watch their favorite team this evening. Nevertheless, there will still be ample wagering opportunities at the best baseball betting sites. But before we take a look at Thursday’s games, let’s gaze over Wednesday’s results.
Wednesday’s Online MLB Betting Thoughts
Wednesday’s MLB action got off to a spectacular start as the Chicago Cubs beat the Atlanta Braves 8-2 on the road. This win marks the Cubs’ 6th straight and now Chicago is closing in on the division leading Milwaukee Brewers.
Part of that has to do with Milwaukee’s recent struggles. After failing to sweep the Philadelphia Phillies, the Brewers have now conceded 4-straight losses, including 3 in a row against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Milwaukee will face the Steel City once again this evening, and it’s certainly one game online MLB betting fans will want to consider.
The Washington Nationals also suffered an upset this past Wednesday, getting shutout at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels 7-0. Nonetheless, the Nats 11 ½ game lead atop the NL East remains unfazed.
The Dodgers were able to build upon their lead in the NL West by crushing the Chicago White Sox 9-1. Los Angeles has an 11-game lead over the Colorado Rockies.
The Indians had high hopes of building upon their own lead in the AL Central by picking up a win over the Giants in a game in which they were heavily favored. However, Cleveland failed on that plight, conceding their second consecutive loss to the Indians.
The Red Sox pulled a 5-1 game over the Toronto Blue Jays, while the Tampa Bay Rays suffered a 7-2 defeat at the hands of the Oakland A’s. The Yanks also failed to chip at Boston’s lead in the AL East, since they were handed a 6-1 loss by the Minnesota Twins.
The Yanks will get an opportunity to chip at that lead this Thursday when they square off against the Seattle Mariners. Let’s find out what the sportsbook lines are predicting for this pairing.

New York Yankees
The Yankees come into this contest with a 448-45 record that pegs them as the 3rd best team in the AL East. New York is currently 4 ½ games behind the Boston Red Sox and 1 ½ games behind 2nd place Tampa Bay. Furthermore, the Yanks own a 4 ½ game lead over 4th place Baltimore.
The Yankees hit a rough patch as the 1st half of the online MLB betting season was closing and they haven’t been able to shake it since. Nevertheless, the odds are siding with New York this evening and Luis Severino will be looking to prove them right. Severino is 5-4 on the season with a 3.40 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP.
The Mariners are 2nd in the AL West due to their 48-48 record. Seattle has a long way to go before they can threaten 1st place Houston, since the Astros have built themselves a 15 ½ game lead atop the division. Seattle owns a 2 ½ game lead over the 3rd place Angels.
Felix Hernandez will get the start for Seattle. Hernandez is 5-3 on the season with a 4.20 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP.
