Yankees Enter Game 2 as MLB Sports Betting Favorites

This week’s MLB sports betting action was a grand slam. Not Just for Houston’s own Yuli Gurriel, who drilled a grand slam in Monday’s game against Miami to give the Astros a 7-2 win over the Marlins, but for players who backed the Cuban with a bet on MLB run lines. Houston followed up that impressive victory with one even more devastating, handing the Marlins a bitter 12-2 defeat. But the Astros weren’t the only team to get into double digits. The Orioles and Tigers contest was high-scoring, albeit much more competitive; Baltimore snuck by Detroit 13-11. Other than those contests, the rest of Tuesday’s action was fairly low scoring. Except the contest between Oakland and Seattle, which came close to breaking double digits.

New York Yankees
2016 was a remorseful year for the Yankees. Not only was it the final year for both Mark Teixeira and Alex Rodriguez – New York’s sweetheart, on top of that, the Yankees also failed to make the postseason. Undoubtedly, New York is hoping to turn things around this season and they’ve certainly taken a step in the right direction. The Yankees are currently sitting on an impressive 23-13 record which lands them the top-spot in the AL East, as well as a ½ game lead over second-place Baltimore.
Wednesday’s game will mark Game 2 of the Yankees and Royals three-game series. New York took Game 1 by the score of 7-1, leading most baseball betting sites to peg them as the betting favorites ahead of Wednesday’s contest. New York will be sending Michael Pineda to the mound this evening. Pineda is 3-2 on the season with a 3.27 ERA.
Kansas City Royals
After winning the World Series in 2015, the Royals were hopeful that 2016 would be a success. Unfortunately, that hope quickly turned to anxiety as Kansas City realized their efforts would not be enough to land them in the postseason. So far into this year’s season, it looks like the Royals will be missing out on the playoffs once again. Kansas City is 16-22 on the season, which ranks them dead last in the AL Central, as well as the AL overall.
Kansas City will be sending Jason Vargas to the mound against New York. Vargas is 5-1 and has a 1.01 ERA. If Vargas can post similar stats this night, Kansas City could very well upset New York.
