World Series Betting Prepares for Game 6 this Tuesday Night
Posted by: Anthony Yaylor
Game 6 of the 2017 World Series will be held this evening, brining online MLB betting fans closer to the epic conclusion of an already monumental championship series. The Astros, who came into the series as MLB sportsbook underdogs, have managed to take the lead in the series 3 games to 2. But now things are heading back to Los Angeles, where the Dodgers will get to close games out. Considering how down to the wire Game 5 came to be, there’s no question this will play a pivotal part in determining this evening’s winner. Let’s take a look at what MLB bookmakers are predicting for Game 6 of this year’s World Series.
Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Dodgers – Tuesday, October 31st
When: 8:20 pm ET
Where: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California
Stream: Fox Sports Go, MLB TV
Online MLB Betting Lines:
Houston Astros +1 ½ (-220) 7 ½ (-110) +105
Los Angeles Dodgers -1 ½ (+180) 7 ½ (-110) -115
It’s no surprise to see the Astros being pegged as underdogs ahead of this evening’s matchup, despite the fact that Houston leads the series. The Astros took full advantage of the home field advantage they enjoyed through the last three games of the series, posting a 2-1 record through that timespan. In doing so, Houston not only proved that they have what it takes to compete with the best team out of the National League but also proved that they are capable world champions. Los Angeles had conceded but one loss on their way to this year’s World Series. Seeing the Astros already hand them 3 in this series is undoubtedly a breathe of hope for a city that has been down in the slumps recently. Sure, the World Series betting lines aren’t siding with Houston tonight, but it wouldn’t be the Astros’ first upset of this series.
Justin Verlander will be getting the start on behalf of Houston. Verlander is 15-8 this season with a 3.36 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. Verlander has posted a 0.67 WHIP and a 4.50 ERA in his last 6 innings pitched.
Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers knew this series was going to be a war and so far the 2017 World Series has been just that. Los Angeles will be eager to take full advantage of their home court this evening, especially when considering how Game 5 came to a close. After delivering 3 runs at the top of the 9th to tie things up at 12, the Dodgers were able to shutout Houston in the bottom of the 9th to send the game into extra innings. However, in their next at bat, Los Angeles was unable to rake in any runs in the 10th – something the Astros had little difficulty doing. But now that the series is heading back to LA, the Dodgers will have the ability to cash in on a last at-bat this evening.
Rich Hill will be sent to the mound Tuesday night. Hill is 12-8 on the season with a 3.32 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP.
