The online MLB betting season has picked up right where it left off, delivering heated contests and wild sportsbook finishes. This past weekend’s action threw us right back into the pit of Major League Action and this week will allow players to bet on MLB once again. Let’s take a look at this weekend’s results before breaking down Monday’s lineup.
The Weekend’s Online MLB Betting Results
Saturday featured a mild plate of MLB matchups. The first contests of the day featured a 5-3 San Diego Padres win over the San Francisco Giants. Afterwards the Oakland Athletics defeated the Cleveland Indians 5-3 and the Rays finished the day’s action with a 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
Sunday featured a surplus of MLB games for sportsbook fans to take part in. Several of those contests ended up being blowouts. The Washington Nationals defeated the Cincinnati Reds 14-4, the Colorado Rockies pummeled the New York Mets 13-4, and the Chicago Cubs delivered an 8-0 shutout to Baltimore.
The Philadelphia Phillies delivered a stunner to the Milwaukee Brewers, the leaders of the NL Central. Few online MLB betting fans could’ve predicted it, but the Phillies gave Milwaukee a proper 5-2 romping.
The Yankees were able to pick up another win over the Boston Red Sox, but were still unable to close in on that No. 1 spot in the division. Will they be able to come one step closer this evening?

New York Yankees
The New York Yankees come into this contest sporting a 47-43 record that ranks them as the 3rd best team in the AL East. New York returned from the MLB’s hiatus to face the Boston Red Sox and a chance to get the back the No. 1 spot in the division. Despite beating the Red Sox twice, New York was still unable to close in on that gap. In fact, they have now fallen to third in the AL East. The Yankees are currently 3 ½ games behind the Red Sox and 2 games behind 2nd place Tampa Bay.
The Yankees will be sending Bryan Mitchell to the mound this evening. Mitchell is 1-1 on the season with a whopping 5.06 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP. With Mitchell on the mound, the Twins might be able to deliver an online MLB betting upset.
The twins scurry into this pairing with a 46-45 record that pegs them 2nd place overall in the AL Central. The Twins are currently 1 ½ games behind 1st place Cleveland and own a 1-game lead over the Kansas City Royals. Minnesota made their return to the MLB by facing off against the Houston Astros. The leaders of the AL West ended up being too much for the Twins to handle, as Minnesota posted a 2-1 record in their 3-game series.
Adalberto Mejia will get the start for Minnesota Monday night. Mejia is 4-4 on the season with a 4.43 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP. Mejia hasn’t been having the best of seasons but has a chance to go above .500 by picking off the struggling Yanks.
