Kansas City Royals

The Royals enter this matchup sporting a 21-40 record that ranks them second to last in the AL Central. With a whopping 11-games behind the division leading Cleveland Indians, it’s pretty clear that the Royals will be missing out on the postseason this year. All in all that would mark the third consecutive season that the Royals have missed out on the playoffs. Moreover, it’s looking like 2018 will be the Royal’s’ second consecutive season with a losing record. Ultimately it seems that Kansas City victory at the 2015 World Series did more harm than good since the team has been losing pretty consistently since then.

Testament to that is the Royals’ 1-4 record in their last 5 matchups. And since they’ve lost the last two against Los Angeles, it’s easy to see why Wednesday’s online MLB betting odds are ruling against Kansas City. In an effort to prove them wrong, the Royals will be starting Ian Kennedy this evening. Kennedy is 1-6 on the year with a 6.08 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP.

Players to Watch: Whit Merrifield (4 HR, 22 RBI, .286 BA), Mike Moustakas (12 HR, 40 RBI, .270 BA), and Salvador Perez (10 HR, 31 RBI, .241 BA).

Los Angeles Angels

Los Angeles enters this matchup with a 34-28 record that ranks them 3rd in the AL West. Just 5-games behind the division leading Seattle Mariners, the Angels could certainly vie for the No. 1 spot. And since Los Angeles is 4-1 in their last 5, they currently have the momentum to do so. As for tonight’s matchup, MLB bettors can expect LA to eat up on Kansas City once again. Shohei Ohtani will get the start on behalf of the Angels. He enters this evening’s pairing with a 4-1 record as well as a 3.18 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP.

Players to Watch: Andrelton Simmons (4 HR, 34 RBI, .330 BA), Mike Trout (19 HR, 39 RBI, .315 BA), Justin Upton (13 HR, 38 RBI, .254 BA).
