Red Sox Look to Deliver Another Online MLB Betting Blowout
Posted by: Anthony Yaylor
The weekend may be over but online MLB betting takes off once again this Monday. After Sunday’s plethora of Major League Baseball matchups, sportsbook players are ready to get in on the lucrative action MLB games offer once more. There’s plenty to choose from this Monday, but let’s recap what went down this weekend before we run over any favorable matchups.
Weekend’s Online MLB Betting Recap
Saturday offered 4 MLB contests for sports betting fans across the nation. All 4 games ended up being pretty one-sided as the Minnesota Twins beat the Kansas City Royals 10-5 and the Arizona Diamondbacks slid past the Rockies 6-2. The Angels delivered the first shutout of the night, winning 4-0 against the Seattle Marines. Likewise, the Dodgers shut out the San Diego Padres 8-0.
Sunday offered a little more diverse action, which is to be expected since there were a total of 15 contests. However, a good portion of the matchups still ended with a lopsided score, the most notable being the Red Sox’ 15-1 tromping of the Blue Jays. Toronto managed to avoid a shutout in that game, but that’s about it.
The Indians also put on a show against the Tigers. Detroit had plenty of kick in them though, but Cleveland still came away with it 11-8. The Marlins would handle the Brewers much more effectively, defeating Milwaukee 10-3.
Other than those few matchups, the rest of Sunday’s results were fairly predictable. After watching what the Red Sox did to the Blue Jays this Sunday, most sportsbook fans will see if Boston can do it again this Monday. Let’s see what kind of odds they’re facing.

Boston Red Sox
After being tied with the New York Yankees for so long, the Red Sox have finally managed to build themselves a lead atop the AL East. Boston comes into this contest with a 47-35 record that gives them a 3 game lead over their longtime rivals. The Red Sox come into this series riding a 4-game streak that has allowed the franchise to make their way to the top of the division. Boston is on track to make their second straight postseason appearance.
The Red Sox will be starting Rick Porcello against Texas. Porcello is 4-10 on the season with a 5.06 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP. Porcello hasn’t been that great either for Boston, posting a 6.00 ERA in his last 6 innings pitched.
The Rangers come into this online MLB betting pairing with a 40-42 record that ranks them penultimate in the in the AL West. The Rangers are currently 15 ½ games behind the division leading Houston Astros, but they do own a 5-game lead over last place Oakland. Additionally, Texas is 1 game behind 3rd place Seattle. The Rangers have made the playoffs the last two years running now but currently find themselves on a dangerous path, one that ends without a postseason appearance.
Martin Perez will get the start from Texas. Perez is 4-6 on the season with a 4.70 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP. Baseball betting sites are pegging Perez as an underdog against Porcello.
