Red Sox Hope for Online MLB Wagering Lock Down

This weekend’s online MLB wagering action begins this Friday. Let’s take a look at how Thursday’s betting results affected the league’s standings before breaking down the day’s lineup.
Thursday’s Online MLB Wagering Results
Thursday’s action got off to a jaw-dropping start when the Washington Nationals beat the Brewers 15-2. This week has been chock full of high-scoring matches and the Nats were the ones to deliver Thursday’s blowout.
From there, sports betting fans were treated to a much more contentious match as the Indians scraped past the Angels 2-1. Afterwards, the Blue Jays put on a show in an 8-4 win over the A’s. Several Blue Jays were ejected in that contest, unnecessarily I might add.
After delivering a devastating 22-run performance over the Texas Rangers, the Miami Marlins were able to pick up another win, this time over the Cincinnati Reds.
The Diamondbacks shut out the Cardinals 4-0, the Cubs beat the White Sox for the third night in a row, and the Padres dealt the Mets a 7-5 loss.
The Yankees picked up a close 6-5 win over the Rays, coming within ½ a game of the division-leading Red Sox. The Yanks will face Tampa Bay again Friday evening.
The Red Sox, who stayed off the diamond yesterday, will get a chance to defend their lead atop the AL East this Friday. Boston will face the Kansas City Royals. Let’s see what the sportsbook odds are predicting for this contest.
Kansas City Royals vs. Boston Red Sox – Friday, July 28th

Where: Fenway Park, Boston, Massachusetts
Series: Game 1 of 3-Game Series
TV: Local Broadcasts
Stream: MLB TV
Online MLB Wagering Odds:
Kansas City Royals +1 ½ (-110) 9 ½ (-105) +180
Boston Red Sox -1 ½ (-110) 9 ½ (-115) -190
Kansas City Royals
The Royals march their way into this contest with a 53-47 record that paints them as the second best team in the AL Central. Kansas City is currently 2-games behind division-leading Cleveland. Additionally, the Royals own a 4-game lead over 3rd place Minnesota. The Royals have been in 2 of the last 3 World Series but failed to make the playoffs last year.
The Royals will be sending Jason Vargas to the mound Friday. Vargas is 12-4 on the season with a 3.08 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP. Vargas’ impressive stats is not enough for the online MLB wagering odds to favor the Royals this evening.
Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox will be looking to hold down their AL East lead this evening. The Sox are sitting on a 56-47 record that gives them a slight ½ game lead over 2nd place New York and a 3-game lead over 3rd place Tampa Bay.
The Red Sox will be staring David Price Friday evening. Price is 5-3 on the season with a 3.82 ERA as well as a 1.27 WHIP. Price has been performing rather poorly lately, posting a 9.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP in his last 5 innings pitched.
