Online Baseball Betting Sizes up Detroit-Seattle Contest

Another wild weekend of online baseball betting is in the bag. Which means it’s time to strap up the boots and head to work. However, Major League Baseball ain’t stopping any time soon and Monday will offer a plethora of betting options for players take a crack at. Before we dive into what Monday has in store for us, let’s take a look at what went down this past weekend.
Sports Wagering Weekend Wrap Up
Saturday was rather devoid of online baseball betting action. With only 4 contests to choose from, MLB fans didn’t have the full menu they’re used to seeing. The Indians beat the Twins 6-2 Saturday, and the Pirates snuck past the Cubs 4-3. The Astros put on a show over the Red Sox 7-1 and the Los Angeles Angels were able to shutout the Kansas City Royals 9-0.
Sunday was able to live up to our sports wagering expectations, with Major League Baseball matchups throughout the day. There were some extremely competitive contests this past Sunday. Like Los Angeles’ 8-7 win over the Cincinnati Reds or the Atlanta Braves scraping past the Miami Marlins 5-4. Even the Red Sox were able to avenge Saturday night’s loss with a surprising 6-5 roughhousing of Houston. After witnessing such competitive action, baseball betting sites and fans alike were left itching for even more heated matchups.
This Sunday, the MLB will broadcast a matchup that should do the trick. The Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners will face each other late Monday night, and ESPN will broadcast it to the nation. It might be a late-night contest, but it’s one worth staying up for.
Detroit Tigers vs. Seattle Mariners – Monday, June 19th
When: 10:10 pm ET
Where: Safeco Field, Seattle
Series: Game 1 of 4-Game Series
Stream: MLB TV, Watch ESPN
Sports Wagering Odds:
Detroit Tigers +1 ½ (-160) 9 ½ (-110) +131
Seattle Mariners -1 ½ (+140) 9 ½ (-110) -141
The Detroit Tigers haven’t had the best of seasons, but they should be evenly matched against Seattle. The Tigers come into Monday’s game sporting a lackluster 32-36 record that places the franchise in 4th place within the AL Central. The Tigers have gone two seasons without making a postseason appearance and by the looks of things, Detroit will be going at least once more before the club can break the dry spell.
Monday’s game will mark the second time these two have faced each other. Earlier in the year, the Tigers and Mariners engaged in a three game series that Seattle won 2-1. To help post a better track record against the Mariners, Seattle will be sending Anibal Sanchez to the mound. Sanchez is 0-0 on the season with a whopping 9.00 ERA and is one of the many reasons the Tigers are listed as online baseball betting underdogs.
The Mariners are in a similar situation as the Tigers, thanks to their disappointing 34-37 record. With that tally, Seattle ranks 4th in the AL West, 2 games behind 3rd place Los Angeles. The Mariners have gone a staggering 15 years without making the playoffs.
Sam Gaviglio will get the start for Seattle. Gaviglio is 3-1 on the season with a 3.41 ERA.
