NHL Online Betting Odds:
New York Mets
The New York Mets enter this evening’s matchup sporting a 14-6 record. That ranks them 1st in the NL East. However, it gives New York a slight ½ game lead over the 2nd-seed Philadelphia Phillies in the division. Clearly, things are very tight at the top of the NL East. With that in mind, it’s clear that New York will need a bit of a rebound if they are to maintain their current ranking. Since the Mets are 3-5 in their last 8, it’s safe to say New York is in the midst of a slump. To help get them out of it, the Mets will be starting Zack Wheeler this evening. Wheeler is a right handed pitcher sporting a 1-1 record on the year. Additionally, Wheeler brings a 2.77 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP to the table.
Players to Watch: Asdrubal Cabrera (4 HR, 12 RBI, .54 BA), Todd Frazier (3 HR, 14 RBI, .258 BA), and Adrian Gonzalez (2 HR, 11 RBI, .239 BA).
St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals fly into this Tuesday night pairing with a 13-8 record. Thanks to that record, the Cardinals find themselves tied for the No. 1 spot in the division alongside the Milwaukee Brewers. Behind those two are the 12-10 Pittsburgh Steelers, who are 1 ½ games behind that duo. Clearly, the NL Central is shaping up to be one of the toughest divisions in the MLB. To keep up with the environment, the Cardinals need to get the best of New York in this series. Considering that St. Louis is riding a 3-game winning streak, they should be able to use that momentum to hold off their home this evening. Luke Weaver gets the start for St. Louis this evening. Weaver is 2-1 on the season with a 4.22 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP.
Players to Watch: Jose Martinez (3 HR, 16 RBI, .329 BA), Yadier Molina (6 HR, 16 RBI, .316 BA), and Marcell Ozuna (2 HR, 11 RBI, .247 BA).
