Indians Hope to Break Online MLB Betting Losing Streak
Another weekend, another wild round of online MLB betting action. But now that Monday has rolled around, it’s time for players to get back to work. But not at the office, but rather at the best sports betting sites. Let’s recap what went down this weekend, before we take a look at some promising betting lines for Monday’s action.
Wild, Wild, Weekend
This weekend’s online MLB betting action got off to a slow start, with Major League Baseball only offering 4 matchups on Saturday. Neither of those 4 turned out to be overly impressive, with the Diamondbacks beating out the Phillies 9-2, the Padres advancing past the Tigers 7-3, the Dodgers shutting out Colorado 4-zip and the Astros skillfully handling the Mariners 5-2.
Sunday was more up to standards, with a total of 15 matchups for fans to wager on. There were a couple of shutouts, like the Brewers 7-0 beat down of the Atlanta Braves, or the Minnesota Twins 4-0 win over the Cleveland Indians. And there were also a few blowouts, like the Dodgers beating the Rockies 12-6.
The most contentious matches of the day were brought to you by the Cubs and the Marlins, as well as the Angels and Red Sox. Both those contests finished with a score of 4-2, with the Marlins beating the Cubs and the Angels surpassing the Sox. The Oakland-Chicago contest was also highly competitive, with the A’s slugging their way past the White Sox 5-3.
Monday will offer a shortened menu of online MLB betting action. There will be a total of 8 contests to choose from, with the earliest action kicking off in the afternoon. The Cubs-Nationals, Rangers-Indians, and Rockies-Giants games will all be broadcast nationally this Monday. Out of those three matchups, the pairing between Texas and Cleveland has the highest level of allure. Let’s take a look at what sportsbooks are predicting for this specific matchup.
Texas Rangers vs. Cleveland Indians – Monday, June 26th
When: 7:10 pm ET
Where: Progressive Field, Cleveland, Ohio
Series: Game 1 of 4-Game Series
Stream: MLB TV
Texas Rangers +1 ½ (-140) 9 (-110) +163
Cleveland Indians -1 ½ (+120) 9 (-110) -173
The Rangers ride into this contest sporting a 38-37 record that ranks the franchise 2nd in the AL West, 13 games behind division-leading Houston. The Astros are currently the winningest team in the MLB, and the Rangers will have their hands full trying to keep up with their Texan rival. Likewise, the 3rd place Angels are giving the Rangers a ride for their money and are right on Texas’ heels.
Coming off a playoff appearance, the Rangers are hoping to make consecutive postseasons. To help Texas get on the winning side of things, the Rangers will be starting Cole Hamels to kick off their series against Cleveland. Hamels is 2-0 on the season with a 3.03 ERA and 1.13 WHIP.
The Indians are 39-35 on the season, which ranks them 2nd in the AL Central. Cleveland can practically taste 1st place however, seeing as they’re only ½ a game behind the Minnesota Twins. The Indians missed their opportunity to leave the Twins firmly planted in second, since they just got swept by Minnesota in a 3-game series.
To help bounce back the Indians will be sending Carlos Carrasco to the mound. Carrasco is 8-3 on the season with a 2.99 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP.
