Giants Vie for Another MLB Wagering Upset

The MLB wagering season continues this Wednesday, giving sports wagering fans the opportunity to wager on America’s favorite pastime. Before we take a look at the Major League Baseball contests slated for the day, let’s review some of Tuesday’s betting results.

Tuesday’s Sports Wagering Recap

Tuesday got off to a surprising start when the Pittsburgh Pirates delivered yet another MLB wagering upset to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers have now lost three in a row and are allowing the Cubs to threaten their position atop the NL Central.

The Baltimore Orioles delivered by the first blowout of the day by stunning the Texas Rangers 12-1 and the Arizona Diamondbacks tried to follow suit by pummeling the Reds 11-2.

The Red Sox picked up another much needed win over the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4. The Phillies got a 5-2 win over the Marlins and the Cardinals shut out the New York Mets 5-0.

The Cubs were able to chip in the Brewers’ lead by defeating the Atlanta Braves 5-1 and the New York Yankees tried to put some pressure on the Red Sox by defeating the Minnesota Twins 6-3.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros were both able to build upon their leads atop their divisions by defeating the Chicago White Sox and Seattle Mariners respectively. The Indians failed to do the same however, suffering an upset at the hands of the San Francisco Giants.

Cleveland will face San Fran once again this Wednesday. Let’s take a look at what MLB sportsbooks are predicting for this evening.

Cleveland Indians vs. San Francisco Giants – Wednesday, July 19th

When: 3:45 pm ET

Where: AT&T Park, San Francisco

Series: Game 3 of 3-Game Series

Stream: MLB TV

Sports Wagering Odds:

Cleveland Indians -1 ½ (-125)          8 ½ (+105)      -210

San Francisco Giants +1 ½ (+105)   8 ½ (-125)       +190

Cleveland Indians

The Indians ride into this pairing sporting a 48-44 record that ranks them as the best team in the AL Central. Coming off a World Series loss, Cleveland is doing all they can to raise the city’s hopes once again. Avoiding back-to-back losses would be a step in the right direction, considering that the Twins are encroaching more and more each day. The Indians currently have a small 1 ½ game lead over Minnesota.

To help avoid yet another upset, the Indians will be sending Carlos Carrasco to the mound this evening. Carrasco is 10-4 on the season with a 3.635 ERA and a 1.09 WHIIP. While Carrasco may seem like a clear-cut MLB wagering favorite, bettors should know that the RHP has posted a whopping 7.11 ERA in his last 6 innings.

San Francisco Giants

The Giants tumble into this contest with a disappointing 36-59 record that pegs them as the worst team in the NL West. The Giants are currently 29 ½ games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers, making any hopes of winning the division misguided.

Nevertheless, the Giants pulled off an upset yesterday and they will be starting Matt Cain in hopes of getting another. Cain is 3-8 on the season with a 5.56 ERA and a 1.70 WHIP.
