Baseball betting continues this Wednesday. The majority of sports wagering fans are hoping that Wednesday’s action culminates in a brawl, much like Monday’s action did. However, considering the harsh suspensions the league just handed both Strickland (6 game suspension) and Harper (4 game suspension), it’s unlikely that any Major League Baseball players will be storming the field anytime soon.
Recapping Tuesday’s Sports Wagering Action
Tuesday offered a full menu of MLB sports odds, with a total of 30 teams taking to the diamond. The results that stand out the most involve Boston’s 13-7 romping of the Chicago White Sox, the lowly Kansas City Royals barely scraping past the Detroit Tigers 1-0, and the Seattle Mariners blowing the Colorado Rockies out of the water 10-4. Another contest worth mentioning is the matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals.
Tuesday night, the Dodgers managed to pick up a 9-4 win over St. Louis. That game marked the 7th straight victory Los Angeles has been able to snag, the longest current streak in the league. Unfortunately for the Dodgers, the NL West is currently the most competitive division in the MLB, and their eye-catching win streak has only amounted to a ½ game lead in the NL West. Nevertheless, the Dodgers will get set to face the Cards once again this Wednesday, in an effort to build on their lead atop the NL West.

Sports Wagering Odds:
Los Angeles Dodgers +1 ½ (-175) 8 (-110) +122
St. Louis Cardinals -1 ½ (+155) 8 (-110) -132
Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers have made 4-straight postseason appearances and by the looks of it, Los Angeles is hell-bent on making that 5 straight. Additionally, the Dodgers will be hoping that if they do make the playoffs, they can get past the NLCS – the stage they haven’t advanced in that 4-year tenure.
As things currently stand, Los Angeles is in a healthy position to make the postseason. The Dodgers 33-20 record lands them the top spot in the NL West. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, the NL West is turning out to be much more competitive than any sports wagering fan could’ve expected. The Rockies are right behind the Dodgers with their 33-21 record, and right behind the Rockies are the Arizona Diamondbacks and their 32-22 record. For comparison, there’s only one other team in the entire National League with more than 30 wins, and only 2 that break that hallmark in the American league.
St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals enter this matchup as the MLB sports odds underdogs and after losing the last two against Los Angeles, most bettors are expecting them to come up short Wednesday night. The Cards missed out on the postseason last year, but had made the last 5 before that (including a World Series title in 2011).
