Dodgers-Indians Getting Online Betting National Spotlight

Posted by: Charlie Smith

As we approach the middle of the week, more and more players will make betting on MLB games a priority. It might have something to do with both the NHL and NBA finishing their seasons, or it could have something to do with the thrifty options the baseball odds are offering. Either way, Wednesday will be brimming with online betting opportunities.

Tuesday’s Wrap-Up, Wednesday’s Lineup

Fans who tuned in for Tuesday’s action were treated to quite an offensive showing, highlighted by the Minnesota Twins 20-7 vanquish of the Seattle Mariners. It’s been an up-and-down kind of season for Seattle, but this might be their lowest point yet.

The Mets didn’t have much luck this past Tuesday either, losing to the Chicago Cubs 14-3. Likewise, the Washington Nationals avenged their Monday night defeat to the Braves by beating Atlanta 10-5.

Wednesday’s lineup will consist of 15 contests, starting with the Oakland Athletics-Seattle Mariners midday matchup and finishing with a late-night pairing between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels contest. One contest getting the national spotlight this evening is the game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cleveland Indians. Considering Cleveland’s online betting woes, the city could really use a win this Wednesday.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The MLB sports odds have pegged the Dodgers as an underdog against Cleveland, despite having a much better record. The odds seem even crazier when considering that the Dodgers are coming off a 7-5 triumph over Cleveland, extending their current win streak to 5-games.

The Dodgers slide into this matchup with a 40-25 that ranks them 1st in the NL West and NL alike. However, the Colorado Rockies are right on Los Angeles’ tail with their 41-26 record. The Dodgers are tied for 3rd-most wins on the season in the entire MLB.

Los Angeles will be starting Brandon McCarthy this evening. McCarthy is 5-3 on the season with a 3.28 ERA. McCarthy hasn’t thrown a pitch in over a week and it’ll be interesting to see how the veteran handles the rest. This series will mark the only time these two franchises face each other this season.

Cleveland Indians

The Cleveland Indians come into this contest with a 31-30 record that ranks them 2nd in the AL Central, 2-games behind the division leading Twins. Additionally, Cleveland owns a 2-game lead over the Detroit Tigers.

It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster season for the Indians, with the franchise following up every win streak with a disappointing row of losses stringed together. To help them get back into the win column, the Indians will be starting Corey Kluber. Kluber is 5-2 on the season but has a pretty high 4.38 ERA. In his last 6 innings, Kluber has posted a 4.50 ERA.
