Dodgers Easy Online MLB Betting Pick Over Pirates

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Los Angeles Dodgers – Game 1 – Monday, May 8th

The online MLB betting season is starting to take shape. So far things have remained fairly balance around the league, with the Houston Astros owning the largest lead of any division-leaders with their 5-game leverage over 2nd place Los Angeles in the AL West. However, as we prepare for Monday’s action it’s clear the spotlight is still shining brightly on the New York Yankees who, alongside the Chicago Cubs, wrote themselves into the MLB history books.

When it was all said and done, the score read 5-4. But that tally doesn’t do 18 innings of baseball justice. 18 innings that were comprised of 6 hours 15 minutes, a record-breaking number of strikeouts, and over 500 pitches from a total of 15 pitchers. Baseball is far from the most riveting sport and it’s hard to imagine that too many people stayed glued for the entire 18 innings. Nevertheless, history was made and the Yanks can brag that they came out on top.

The MLB has a myriad of contests on deck for players who bet on MLB Monday night. The action will begin at 7 o’clock when Nationals face off against the Orioles and will conclude with the Pirates facing the Dodgers in Los Angeles.

Pittsburgh Pirates

Coming off a fairly successful season that saw the Pirates go 78-83-1 and finish 3rd in the National League Central, Pittsburgh is ready to pick up right where they left off. Unfortunately, a Wild Card loss to the Cubs is right where the Pirates left off and it seems that they haven’t been able to shake off that losing attitude. The Pirates come into Monday night’s contest sporting a less than impressive 14-17 record that ranks them dead last in the Division. The Pirates last took to the mound Sunday night in a 6-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers that highlighted the team’s need for a revamped offense.

The Pirates will be sending Trevor Williams to the mound. Williams is 1-1 on the season with a 5.40 ERA.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers are coming off a highly successful season. The Dodgers finished 2016 with a 91-71 record that gave way to a 1st place finish in the NL West. Once in the playoffs, Los Angeles was able to advance to the NL Championship Series where they lost to the Cubs 4-2.

Brandon McCarthy will get the start for the Dodgers. McCarthy is 3-0 on the year with a 3.10 ERA.
